Well I think the basic plan (hopefuly) is to do the fight at the ruins and then they'll probably head back to the abbey (maybe), by which point I can do a "while they were away" which'll build up to their return.

I prob won't be able to go online for at least 2 weeks either after tomorrow.

Well, considering he's back at the monastery talking to Naedath and the Abbot, I doubt he will be doing anything!  :icon_wink:

Yeah, why did I put him on the battlemap? I think I was knocking out portraits and went "don't forget him" and so did one, realised the others weren't in the fight yet, and included him because I'd done him. I've written him into the stuff that happened there now so I'm not going to go back and change everything (although I think I'll have him be the first to realise Rogan got left behind with most of the other bodies and decide to head back in a hurry).

I hope hurrying means "within a minute or two", because I reckon that's how long I have if I try to take them on in straight combat.  Hmm, working strategies out now...

By the way, can Rogan see the green light from where he is?  That might give him some warning.

Unfortunately it's a good 15-20 minute walk (distance plus crossing/circumventing a large hill). I'll start his thread in a bit. I'm going to be generous and place him away from the big pile (dragging back a body) when he notices the green light just as the corpse he's carrying begins to move.

Well I hope he is ok with a tactical reptreat until the rest of the group can come to his aid. Maybe the abbot and sage can help hold them off for a bit.

I can see you guys coming back to find zombies roaming the abbey and Rogan, the abbot and Naedath holed up in the abbots bedroom or in the sanctuary because it's got a boltable door :).

I can too, but I'd like to try to take a few down first.  Between Turn Undead, two magical weapons (via the spell), Spiritual weapon and all the rest I think I can do a fair bit of damage and be very difficult for them to actually hit.  Unfortunately most of that stuff's only going to last a few minutes, but on reflection I think I could take a good few of them down with a bit of luck and judicious use of healing. 

It would certainly be quite epic if they came back and found Rogan sitting on a pile of bodies cleaning off his mace!  :icon_twisted:

Would I get extra xp for beating the odds?  :icon_wink:

At his level he'll be destroying them (casting out the necromantic magic that's animating them) with successful turning attempts. Unfortunately he's got a limited number of uses and they're mostly spread about in small clumps. I'll get started on the next thread (and battle thread) then.

Unfortunately the squares on many of the battle map don't really line up with the walls very well so it might be a tad awkward. It's just a pitty that most of my Night Below players seem to be missing at the moment :(. I really wanted to get that going in january (and it's nearly february now).
