Raul is not higely intelligent, either, but I always thought that riddles were something put up for players to solve.  It never helps if your character has got INT18, but you can't solve the riddle, anyway :)

Well in it's original form the riddle is not a puzzle at all (that is a meaning imposed upon it by later scholars). The riddle is the art of describing a thing in intimate detail, in such a way that anyone can tell what it is, without actualy saying it. So the best riddles are obvious but long because there's los of ways to describe it. If a riddle is short then it's a bad riddle because the person who constructed it wasn't imaginative enough to make it longer :).

That is interesting.  I did not know that, before.  I shall use this nuggest of information at some time in the future to make my work colleages think I'm smarter than I really am!  Thanks Balgin :)

Are you planning on walking back out the north entrance and then around the corner or just heading out of one of the eastern entrances into the cloister?

Well, assume Ivor and Raul chatted at the well as he was assessing how deep it was, then out the most convenient exit from there.  They'll take a look up and down the cloister just to check, then continue exploring the rest of the ground floor.

You don't have to but I think it'd be nice to wait a bit (out of character) to see if the others pop their heads up.

No problem.  We can wait a bit :)  I'm likely to be offline all weekend anyway.

I can only blame Raul and Ivor's past history of working together alone for forgetting about the rest of the group at times! ;)
