Enid Blyton - that made me chuckel.

Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

Yeah, I think I can sum up the quality of her descriptive writing by quoting the following to you:

Quote
It was a hard fight but in the end Robbin Hood's men won.

That's it. That's her entire description of a battle. Oh her stuff's good, just not descriptive enough to hold more adult minds. Yes I can imagine it for myself but I'd like to know what she was thinking when she wrote it, know what I mean?

OOC: Can I heal subdual damage whilst remaining active?  I thought I couldn't?

If you lag behind the group and take it easy I think you might be ok. Maybe go back to the abbot and se eif they have found anything that might help. During that time you should heal a bit. I just figured you might want to save the potion because who knows what balgin is going to throw at us later.

I'm concerned that if I can't heal subdual damage, the first hit I take will knock me unconcious regardless of the source.

I'll wait for Balgin's reply, and I can't help whilst walking, I'll take the potion.  If I can heal subdual whilst walking, then I'll refrain.

I think resting is allowed to include light activity (so slow walking with breaks should be fine). So no resting for walking back up the cliff path but strolling casualy across the island's surface ought to count. And then he could snatch a few breaks while people investigate things too.

Healing Nonlethal Damage

You heal nonlethal damage at the rate of 1 hit point per hour per character level.

Is what the rules say, but it declines to say if this should be rest or if it just heals anyway.

I'll walk slow and skip the potion for the time being.

Okay so is everyone going back up the cliff now or not? I think it's worth remembering the message in the sand because it won't last long with those little waves lapping at the beach.

Don't worry guys, Raul remembers everything up to the point he was posseseed.  The message in the sand was:

Gre*t *a*ger

Grimorden s*ek* freedom
Dimamasin w**l he*p
fi*d h** tomb b*s*de
the *u*r** a* s**thcr**n

He can remember that very clearly!  Which he read as

Great danger

Grimorden seeks freedom
Dimamasin will help
find his tomb beside
the quarry at southcrown

Did we figure out who Dimamasin is?

Alarian just said about the message in the sand, we won't forget. We have no idea who Dimimasin is - my theories are that it's either help in the form of another spirit or physical help in the form of a weapon or a book (that Dimamasin used to own).

The new thread's coming, I just need to check a note (I suspect that I remember something about the quarry that isn't mentioned in it's description, but is mentioned elsewhere).

Just a word of caution, it can also be read as Dimamasin will help Grimorden find freedom, and the reason we're going to his tomb is to kill him properly dead so he can't.  It's a little less likely, but possible, so be on guard  :icon_wink:

Also, with the map showing "Ruins of Dimamasin's Hall" at the southern point of the island, no points for guessing where we're likely to be investigating soon...
