As Gaius moves to try to comfort Gibs, the halfling backs away, screaming at the top of his lungs "Stay back! Aghhhh! Gods, all over your face! Stay away!" OOC: Diplomacy check DC 20; result 18

Harl looks disgusted "Oh not again!" he puts his fingers in his ears and starts humming to himself.

Pym shuffles away fearfully from Gibs, and Darco sighs wearily. Therese continues to stare blankly not moving a muscle or acknowledging anything.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

OOC: Talk about cool! Cold as ice with all this nuttiness going on!

Olothoros and Lunk go back to the tent. The smell wafts up from the now grateless hole.

OOC:  Great.  Lunk gets doodee-duty.   :icon_sick:

"Oop, I forgot something!"  Keeping the rest of his gear, handing his food rations to Gaius, Lunk saunters back to the tent.  Looks sheepishly over his shoulder, creeps inside and shuts the flap.

Is there any towels or clean water inside the tent?  thanx.........

Axe in hand, Lunk jumps in.  Hmm....  what does he see?

Will gives up on the door and rushes back to the group then with the handle of his sword tries a more direct aproach to calming Gibs down
Saying "Oh, W...w...wWill you jus' shut yer gob shorty!"

OOC: Will runs back and tries to knock Gibs unconscious.

Before Lunk jumps in Olothros asks Lunk to hold his axe out in front of him. "I can light it up and you can use it as a torch so you can see while down there, ok?" If Lunk does it then I will cast light on it.

Jumping in, Lunk lands with a splash! (It's not too far down). The smell inside is even worse but he suppresses any nausea OOC: Fortitude save DC 12; result=19. He finds himself in a tunnel about 6 feet high with several small pipes leading off it. A larger pipe about 2 feet in diameter to the west carries water into the main tunnel. The tunnel itself leads to the north. Lunk notices several sets of tracks in the muck of the sewer; two sets of human footprints going both in and out,  as well as two sets of strange slithering tracks coming in. However, only one set of the non-human tracks goes back out to the creek outside OOC: there's no barrier to the outside, so Lunk can walk out of the sewer if he wishes

Olothros asks Lunk "Should I come down?"

OOC: OK cool cheddar, I didn't know that. I will save the spell for future use then. If he says yes then Olothros goes down there. He also looks around to see if he can recognize anything. Was Will able to knock out the little fella?

"uh-oh" Lunk grunts as he counts the tracks, and finds one unaccounted for.  He does a quick search for the slithery thing that didn't leave.

"Ho, wait up a bit.  There's tracks down here."  If he doesn't find any slithery thing in the water, Lunk will take a quick sploshing jog to the creek and look about outside before returning to Orthy.

He reports all he found to Olothros.  "If you want to go down there, cover yer mouth. Its pretty rank."

He doesn't find anything in the sewer that could be monstrous and slithery. Being a man of the wilds, Lunk takes in a great deal of information about the creek, in particular that it's quite cold! A thin rind of ice covers it at the moment. The bank of the stream, where it has been disturbed by the footsteps leading into and out of the pipe, shows evidence of large quantities of black sand mixed in with the usual gravel and topsoil. The creek flows through the valley from the mountains to the north.

OOC: Bloody hell I missed Bodhi's post! You guys are mean as anything! I might have to do an initiative stand off between Gaius and Will to see if the priest can get there before Will.

OOC: OK, this will serve as a little combat intro with more details to follow in the other thread.

OK first of all I'll rule that initially Gibs doesn't notice Will going for him as he's too distracted by psychosis. So the first round will just be Will (Initiative 6) and Gaius (Initiative 4), and then actions will occur in the following initiave order.

Initiative

Darco -18
Harl - 15
Gibs - 13
Pym -10
Will - 6
Gaius - 4

So, Bodhi has declared an action for this first surprise round (running to and knocking out Gibs), now the 24 hour rule kicks in and Kurt has 24 hours from the time I've modified this post to respond with what he'll do. I will then sum up that round and we'll take it from there. I will make a battle map when I have time, but for now Gaius and Will are close enough to each be able to move to Gibs and take an action as well.

It should be obvious who is who, but Harl is to Gaius' left, and Darco is to Gaius' right. The blond woman is Pym. Therese is not depicted as she is a non-combatant. If she becomes important for some reason, I'll put her in (she's in the square to the right of Darco).

Olothros gets curious when Lunk tells him about the tracks. He jumps in to take a looks. When he jumps in and takes a look. Does he see or hear anything else? After that he goes with Lunk.

OOC: Search and Spot checks? Knowledge check for the tracks? Listen check to hear the commotion in the room above?

Olothoros jumps into the sewer and is overcome with nausea OOC: Fortitude save DC 12; result=7. He now has a -2 penalty on all skill checks, attack rolls and saving throws. This will pass a certain amount of time after leaving the sewer, which will be determined when he leaves it

Olothoros retches and the stench and his stomach heaves, waves of nausea passing over him. He cannot see anything besides that which Lunk informed him of, except to note that the foreign black sand on the bank matches that which he found on Dr Asworth's boots. Nor can he hear anything at the moment besides Gibs' continued screaming, muffled by distance.
