"Looks like the same sand from the 'good doctors' boots." OOC: Can I do a knowledge check to see if I know of the tower at all?
Mike

Fabian

Olothoros has never seen or heard of anything like this structure in anything he has read or anyone he has spoken to. It is beyond the experience of any of you.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

"So how are we getting in?" OOC: Is it warmer? Is Komodo responding at all?
Mike

Fabian

Olothoros can sense nothing from Komodo; he's not even breathing. However, the elf spellcaster is sure that his familiar is not dead, despite the below-freezing temperature.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

"L...l...looks like there's nothing for it b...b..but the front door. Lunk! P...p...please at least don't KNOCK this time OK!?"

Will rushes a head turning towards the others:
"Y...y...you coming?"

"Will why don't you try and pick the lock and get us in quietly"
Mike

Bodhi

Maybe we're rushing ahead of things? If nothing else happens on the way to the door Will will first of all check the door for traps, then feel the door if it IS locked, then (if necessary) pick the lock.
But perhaps something happens before we get that far?

Fabian

Will rushes up the ramp to the balcony, when he gets there he finds no door and thus no lock to pick, just a gigantic open doorway that opens into the interior of the tower.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

Uh oh, I'm not going in there on me own and if any of the others say a word about it I'll bloody well have their nuts fer breakfast
Will suddenly feels very very very small...

He most definitely waits for the others before going in there. He ties his shoelaces, brings out his dagger to clean his nails, anything really to look as if he's just casually waiting
"Who me afraid -never heard of it" kind of thing...

Once they arrive he hollers, voice trembling with false bravado: "W...w...well what kept you so long?... s...s...scared of the big bad monsters are we?"

"OOOoooh!"  exclaims Lunk in awe.  "Yo, Will, it warm in there?"

"I...i...its warm enough out here. Why d...d...don't you go in and check Lunk? I'll j...j...just be having a little rest and then I'll come along."

Olothros walks up to the Lunk and Will "it is smarter for all of us to go in together." Olothros has his wand out. What are they waiting for? There could be untold magical riches in there and I need to know. He strides into the doorway and looks around.

OOC: What do I see? How much damage does a wand do if used to hit someone?
Mike

Bodhi

Will studies the elf vaguely interested in what might happen to him.
Will is still planted firmly outside arms crossed.

"well has anyone tried to open the door yet? Will do you see any traps? " Gaius shuffles foot to foot trying to keep warm in the cold. "Lets look at this logically. Its the most obvious place the doctor has gone to, its going to be warmer than out here, and there is likely to be something dangerous in there.. however the doctor has been able to come and go with relative ease with no ill harm."

" so id wager we will be in no immediate danger if we go in, so lets try this door and get in there"

I honestly believe my friends are stalling in case something jumps out at them.... a paranoid bunch, just like at the temple
Funny isnt it how naughty dentists always make their one fatal mistake.

OOC: Kurt, you might want to change that last post - there's no door, it's a hollow archway. Mike, a wand is at the end of the day a fancy stick, so it would hurt someone, but wouldn't cause HP damage.

Olothoros' elven sight allows him to see into the dark interior of the tower, which he has no trouble entering. The inside is hollow and empty save for a 20-foot-wide spiraling ramp that descends into darkness. Tendrils of steam rise from the depths.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?
