Will, never happy to be woken and all the grumpier because of the bugs shouts:
"Sh...sh...shut up! People are trying to sleep here!"
Then he crawls out of bed and staggers out in the kitchen. He ignores the doctor and starts taking his rope and the kitchen utensils down rolling it up neatly.

Dr Asworth looks like the sort of man who rarely gets angry and is almost upset that he has to be now, "This is preposterous! Someone has stolen my magnifying glass!"

He looks appalled that Will is just coolly acting as if nothing has happened "I demand its return and that you leave immediately!"

Olothros puts his spellbook away and makes sure all of his items are secure and where they belong. Before he leaves the room he brings komodo close to his face and whispers instructions for him to go to the corrodor that leads to the large room and see if anyone is there or coming. "If people are coming send a fear responce and if it empty send a relaxed responce". He steps out of his room and see's will with the rope of utensils and thinks what in the name of my precious arcane art is he doing? He looks around the room to see what is going on and where everyone is and then addresses the Dr. Asworth. "Good morning good Doctor, what seems to be the problem?"

OOC: I can try a diplomacy check but with my low Cha I doubt it will do much.

No amount of diplomacy will aid this situation it seems... The young man looks at Olothoros as if he (Olothoros) is an idiot "'What appears to be the problem?' I seem to have invited a party of thieves into my home who delight in creating bizarre displays is the 'problem', sir! I shall have to ask you all to leave!"

Will continues to collect his things and moves to the door "W...w...was leaving anyway mr grumpypants. S...s...seems someone locked the door though"

He pointedly ignores Olothoros and only adresses the doctor.

Olothros takes acception to Will's last comment and asks "why were we locked in?"

OOC: Do I feel anything from Komodo?

The doctor is almost outraged by Olothoros' bland questioning, "What?! I locked it as I always do if you must know; do you seriously think I leave the front door open for any passing bandit to enter willy-nilly or indeed an inmate to get out!? You might just as well say that I locked myself in!"

Komodo gives off a vibe of bored, loud, which one can assume is to do with the argument being translated into lizard terms.

"Dr. Asworth no one has stolen anything from you. This morning when I came out to study by the warmth of the fire I could not concentrate due to the snoring of our large friend here. I then noticed the door was ajar and surmised that you were an early riser and to your studies as was I. I pushed the door open and saw the room was empty, that was when I noticed the magnifying glass. I borrowed it to relieve the stress on my eyes of having to study in the darker bedroom." Olothros reaches into his pouch and removed the magnifying glass handing it over to the Dr. "As you can see there was nothing sinister going on."

OOC: Olothoros Bluff result gives a DC of 7 to Jonathan's Sense Motive check. He gets 6 (!)

Dr Asworth seems to calm down slightly "I see, well pardon my outburst, but I believe that it is customary to ask before one borrows something. But that still does not explain this ludicrous rope arrangement! And I always believed that elves could see very well in the dark?"

Lunk surreptitiously buckles on his armor.

"Just sleeping here.  Got coffee?  Me friends only mean to help."  bluff?

"OY!! G..g...grumpypants! Will ya open the friggin door!"
Will shouts all ready to leave.
"I'm O...o...outa here. A...a...and I hope I never hear the word elf mentioned again."

Olothros smiles at his reply. "Yes, we can see very well in the dark, but with all the reading I do I try not to strain my eyes whenever I can avoid it. We also live long lives and I want to be able to see in my old age. As for the apparatus I have no idea where that came from." Olothros takes a glance back at the lab and asks "Beside the obvious issues of mental health what sort of issues due you specialize in? Also is there anything you might suggest that might aid us in our search for the missing father and son."

Will's attitude incenses the doctor again "I have given you my hospitality from the storm and you talk to me like that!" (beat) "And return those utensils now!"

He turns back to Olothoros "And as for you 'sir' I have never heard such a lot of rubbish in my life! Old age indeed! You are liars and thieves, and you should leave now." OOC: Bluff 8, Sense Motive 11

"We came here to get answers and won't be leaving without them! What do you know of the missing men?"
