OOC: Will's pretending to be asleep still, Lunk's still drinking, and Olothoros is reading I believe. I will assume that PCs continue in an activity unless I'm told differently or I advance the timeframe, or I decide on a whim that Lunk finishes his drink, say. Now that's an idea.

Lunk, the booze that your good buddy Will passed to you has run out. There wasn't much there anyway, the skinflint.

Wohin gets up, "Thanks once again, to you and your friends, Master Holbrar. I better be on my way back to see my mother, let her know you fellers are on the case. As I say, you can have a day to get stuff together but please don't delay any longer than that." He shakes your hand, Gaius.

Wohin goes on to describe the trail to the asylum and gives you descriptions of his father and brother. He also tells you where his mother lives and asks where you'll be staying. "If you don't know anywhere, here's good." (meaning the inn where you are now) "Shall we say that I can find you here if I need you?" he asks Gaius.

"aye, heres as good as place as any for the night. We'll meet you back here when we return with news of your father and brother"

Gaius will organise a room/rooms for the lot of them. Then he goes to bed... big day tomorrow!!

After going over his spell book and scrolls Olothros puts them away and decides to go for an evening walk to satisfy his curiosity about the town. "I'm going for a walk, anyone coming along?"

Lunk finishes his drink, puzzled, and thinks, "that bottle looked a bit bigger than the drink inside...  :shrug:"

Mildly irritated by Gaius' babble, lots of big words, he stands.

"I'll join ya!"  Fresh air sounds good about now, and besides, there may be some fun to be had!

Gaius and Wohin shake hands "You'll always be welcome with the Mason family when you're in Winterholme, Master Holbrar." Wohin says and with a smile of renewed hope he leaves, happier and more sober. Gaius goes to book rooms for the group with the innkeeper (OOC: I'll handwave that you have enough money for that). As he does so, Olothoros raises his proposition to the other two, of whom Lunk eagerly follows him outside. Will seems to be asleep. Olothoros realises that Will isn't really asleep at all, just pretending. Lunk thinks poor ol' Will must be really tuckered out after the ride to get here. Let the guy have a nap. Olothoros and Lunk step outside into the cold night air... Olothoros, your familiar sends you a feeling of Too cold.... You realise that you'll have to wrap up the lizard warmly for the mountains too. The street is empty and the town is quiet.

(OOC: I decided to rule this as a Bluff check vs Spot check. Will's Bluff result of 7 vs. Olothoros' Spot result of 13 and Lunk's Spot result of... 2! What's your familiar's name, Olothoros?)

Olothros smiles as he glances at Will 'sleeping.' As he walks out the door behind Lunk he cups his hands and brings Komodo loser to his face and says "I guess it will be the three of us then," as he takes a last glance over his should and walks out of the door. Olothros keeps Komodo under his robes and as close to him as possible to keep him warm while outside. He walks around to get a better sense of the layout of the town and its contents. All the while to fiind anything that may bring a new form of knowledge.

Lunk peace-binds his axe and follows Orthy into the chill evening air, humming that "lunatics have taken over the asylum" song, every now and then singing the chorus out loud, as those are the only words he knows.  He does have manners, after all, being of high birth, at least on the human side...

Shaking his head at his companions' eccentricities and their seeming unconcern for either Wohin's plight or their group's new mission, Gaius heads up to bed. Being a good-hearted soul, he asks the innkeeper if he (the innkeeper) can tell his friends which rooms are theirs. OOC: Putting words into your mouth I know but it seems like what Gaius would do

Olothoros and Lunk stand outside the inn in the cold night, the streets are empty. Around about are houses and down the road the temple where you just came from. Nothing at all out of the ordinary or remarkable. Will, you hear Lunk outside singing that annoying song.

OOC: There really is nothing that interesting going on outside. Honestly.

After a short walk in the cold night air Olothros decides to head back and get some sleep. "Lunk do you want to head back? I don't see much else for us to do"

Any open pubs about, or other loud gatherings?

Lunk looks forlornly about for any loud, raucous pubs in the vicinity, unfortunately the pub to Lunk ratio is very low indeed (which is to say 1:1). The Blinding Light seems to be the only drinking extablishment near where you are; so it would be quiet comfort or nothing.

Olothros settles in his room for the night and makes sure Komodo is warm before he goes to sleep.
