OOC: To which square? will you be moving through the guy's threat zone in front of you?
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

cheddarmonger

straight to ab23, right through the dumb fool standing there.  AoE, pshah.
Nevermind me, I have a cruddy banner, so please click HERE for Cheddarmongers!

OOC: OK, that's fine, you don't get AoO for moving into threat zones.

Lunk rushes up to the beast and with mighty swing slices into it. With a horrid splatter of ichor it is wounded grievously, and collapses to the ground, it's foul fluids seeping out.

Creature -27 HP; unconscious, dying.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

Seeing that Lunk may still be in danger Olothros concentrates on the summoning.

OOC: And we're back! What creature are you summoning, Olthy?
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

OOC: I'll stick with the Celestial giant fire beetle. I figure it might be able to fly in and out so it might stand a better chance  for a bit.

OOC:What square are you summoning it to?

"Hey, you killed our friend!" shouts one of the people angrily. "Yeah! Why'd you do that?" someone else shouts.

Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

The spell isnt broken, these people are still under the influence of these... things.

Gaius trys to reason with the crowd calling out.

" Brothers, sisters please put down your weapons. There is no need for further violence. That was not your friend, it was enslaving you"

Turning to his friends.

"Brothers we need to subdue these people, or at least not engage them. They are not aware of their actions. "

Subduing! Here's one for me

Any chance for Will to subdue one of those humans? I'm unclear about the rules?

I think you get to hit them with a blunt instrument without killing them... I could be wrong though. Olothros summons it to the square right next to him so he can tell it what to do.

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/injuryandDeath.htm#nonlethalDamage OOC:Basically, when using a weapon that normally deals lethal damage, you take a -4 penalty to attack when using it to cause non-lethal damage.

With a flare of light,  a glowing beetle about 3 feet long appears next to the elf wizard. The crowd (about 15 strong) seem somewhat awed but still angry with you, and threatening.

Despite his calm demeanour and inspiring words, it seems that Gauis' words have no effect.

OOC: Everyone please make an Intelligence check.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?

Olothros intelligence check (1d20+4=11)

Olothros commands the Celestial Giant Fire Beetle to "protect Lunk!" He points toward & conventrates on Lunk.

Does he need to describe him or was that enough?

Will decides to sneak back in the shadows for now and await how things are going.
He moves as far away from the people as possible to the nearest cover

Will and Gaius
You think back to the mosaic around the crystalline shrine in the massive temple... it seems as though these inmates and the father and son you were sent to find have been charmed or dominated by the altar in a ceremony involving touching it. Hence why you felt the mental compulsion earlier to reach out and touch the thing... just as well you resisted! If you destroyed it, perhaps the people would come back to their senses. Although Lunk may be the only one strong enough to do so...
OOC: Olthy, make a Knowledge Arcana check please. :D

The inmates and associates seem somewhat fearful of Lunk but in a crowd seem to be getting bolder. They start moving towards the half-orc...
