Oh, I thought they were a foot apart. How long was the rope again?

"Guys (and girls), I have a plan. I reakon that both of these corridores are connected at the other end, so one of us could leave all of their things here and run past the bell (Which shouldn't hurt them). Then one of us could tie the rope to an arrow, shoot it over the posts to the other side, then the person who went past the bell can tie it to the post at his end, we tie it to this post and use it as a tight rope to get accross. It's a safer bet than trying to jump each post or getting our things past the bell."

Bodhi

"I doubt the other corridor is free from trouble" Ellion has decided to stop sulking and instead speaks with a forced matter of fact professional voice now.

"I don't think we should risk anyone going alone that way. And that bell WILL harm us even running,I felt it remember ? No need to rush things. I suggest two of us go the roundabout way to the parallel corridor and then we see if there's something we can do from the other side. How's that sound?"

"So no one is thinking we should just set off this trap from a distance?"

I was but there are two problems with it. It is meant for the weight of a person to set it off so it would be hard to find something that heavy to set it off AND if it is something like walls close in on themselfs then we are forced to go past the bell with all of our potions etc.

I jus thought as I typed that we could trow a dead orc on the trap and run back and hope it doesn't compleatly close off the passage.

I search the walls, floor and celing by and just past the first post (making sure to not step on the trap itself) for anything like poisoned dart holes, swinging axes, walls closing in etc.

Keeper

"Given me one end of your rope, eyeolas, I can get across this without touching the floor or the poles."

As soon as Rhana has one end of the rope, she will cast Spider Climb on herself, then crawl along the right-hand wall (as we see it), keeping an eye out for unusual features on the wall, before getting to the other side with the rope.

"Rhana! What are you doing!?" Ellion shouts
"Who knows what foul creatures you might meet on the other side?"

Keeper

"I appreciate your concern, Ellion, but none of us a children, and I can always scurry back, quick as you like.  I promise that if there is a really foul creature, I'll let you kill it." and she winks at Ellion

"great idea."

I hold onto the other end of the rope and wait untill there is no more slack and she can't go any further, then tell her to tie it to one of the posts about 5" from the wall she is on, and I doo the same, making sure to tie it as tight as possible.

"Whe can tight rope it, but not all the way (prety sure the rope isn't 40ft). So once all three of us are on the last post this will take us too, Rhana will nead to come back, untie the rope at this end and bring it to the last pole on the other side just as we have done know.

I step onto the first pole, lean against the way with my hands looking at my feet as I slowly walk sideways across the rope.

Bodhi

I'll hold my actions until I know what Balgin says about Rhanas succes in her venture. We don't even know if there IS a rope to hold onto yet

Good point, I'd missed the thing about the rope! Thanks Bodhi :)  I'll just have to see if Rhana is rash enough to have an explore using Spider Climb, anyway! :D

Rhanaspeaks a few magic words and then she walks up the walls, her gravity rotating to relate to the wall she is walking on (similar to some car/shampoo adverts from a few years ago). She just walks towards the wall and then keeps walking, her first foot goes up against the wall and as her second one moves to meet it she seems to rotate in a rather disconcerting way. She carries the end of the rope all the way to the other end and is about to descened when she stops in mid act, was that something? No, probably nothing. No, she's sure she heard something, something in the distance over the tolling of the bell. It sounded like a voice strained in a screech or shout. Probably nothing, she thinks to herself, better just relax and get on with it. But there it is again, a voice grunting, no wait, two voices. It sounds like they're fighting and it sounds like they're not that far around the corner.

Keeper

Rhana will tie off the rope on the last pole, keeping an eye down the corridor all the time, then she'll go back and tell the others that she has heard people fighting, before nipping back down to the other end of the poles again, to await the others to join her.

As she heads back to the far side, she'll pull out her wand, and get ready to cast, if necessary.  She'll also get down from the wall to the floor 5' beyond the poles, so long as the floor there does not look like a pressure plate to her.

Dekion waits to see what is going on. He keeps looking over his shoulder to make sure nothing sneaks up behind us.

"Could you come back to this side after we're across, this rope could prove usefull later, so we need someone to untie it at this end," I say to Rhana before see goes back to see what the noise was.

I climb onto the first post, wait untill I have my balance, then slowly start to travers the rope, leaning on the wall for ballance if neccessary, and push down a bit once I'm in the midle of the first two posts to see if it will support the heavier members of the group.

Balgin Stondraeg

Each of the first two poles seem strong enough to bear a man's weight.
