"So long as your quiet."

I walk (crall if I need too) as fast as my jelly legs will take me to the box room with Ellion.

"One moment." I do what I have said at least twice already. "Now to the corridor!" I walk to the corridor, taking lighter steps the closer I get to it and pear around the corner, bow ready.

Ellion -praying for patience - readies her crossbow and makes ready to lend supportfire.

"Ok Rhana we can advance slowly up the side of the corridor right up to the junction. Lets stay close to the left wall here and you stay behind me." Dekion looks for any signs of traps along the corridor as he advances.

As Dekion and Rhana approach the junction they begin to hear the sounds of someone, or something, grunting, snarling and making indistinguishable sounds around the corner to the left. Whatever it is, it's alone and it's between the two junctions.

I'll get a battlemap ready in a bit but the others won't be arriving for a few roudns and I doubt it'd go to a second combat round unless you're really unlucky or something.

OOC: Balgin is it possible for you to go and put little numbers or letters on the map in order to label areas to help describe actions? Sorry if I am being a pain I just don't want anyone confused. The other thing I wanted to make clear was am I right in assuming that the top of the map is north?

Dekion slides up to the last square in the corridor right before the junction (on his left which should be the southern box at the end of the hall before the junction, man I wish this were a labelled grid :icon_wink: ). He stops there for a second to look to his right (down the corridor that looks like it leads into that cave like area) to see if anything can be seen in there (He doesn't want to have to fight something in front of and behind him at the same time). If the area to the north is clear he then carefully takes a look around the corner to the south to see if he can see Sarian & Ellion at the other end and also what is in that corridor.

OOC: See what I mean about making things easier to explain :icon_ermm:

Oh the large cavern to the north is anything but empty. It contains a large statue (in fact when I've played this adventure at the club a few times I've used a little buddha statue on the battlemap and it's about the right size) carved of stone. It's eyes are gleaming emeralds the size of a man's fist. On either side of this mighty edifice stands a mummified/stuffed giant bird of some sort.

I'll see about adding notes to the map but the boards have been really buggy yesterday and today.

Dekion takes a glance at the statue and thinks (at least it isn't a some creature in both ends of the corridor). He carefully looks around the corner to see what is there and if Sarian and Ellion have arrived. He makes sure to whisper everything to Rhana so she knows what is going on as well.

So just give us a shout once we're deemed to be by the corner. Probably after Dekion has been eaten  :icon_wink:

Both of us have our weapons ready to fire anyway.

Keeper

Rhana moves up to 10 feet behind Dekion and on the other side of the corridor, so that she can hear him, and provide any support required.

Dekion peers northwards into the vast cave with the idol. As he turns to look the other way a large rough looking vaguely human creature dressed in furs waves it's club in exitement grunting and prepares to fight!.

Prepare to battle the caveman (oh yeah, 80's adventures had some really out of place stuff too :p).

Round 1

Taking a defensive stance, Dekion prepares to meet the charge head on, drawing back his blade for a quick curving slice or two as the foe closes. The caveman rushes forwards, club raised but before it comes thundering down, Dekion's curved blade slashes out across his midriff, spilling guts and causing him to double over. His club falls heavily on the warriors shoulder but glances off the finely wrought mail to land with a thud on the floor.

Ellion advances, raises her crossbow, takes aim at the hanging object in the distance and lets lose a bolt in it's direction......

...... Far down the hallway someone wicked has placed a thick iron ring in the ceiling. From this ring there hangs a large enchanted bell. The bell itself is about the size of a head, in fact it could be mistaken for a very plain "bucket" helmet at a distance. The bell's enchantments cause it to ring out when a creature approaches (creatures as small as rats and cockroaches are too small to trigger the enchantment). Fortunately the crossbow bolt is also too small to trigger the spell. Unfortunately, it strikes the bell hard and that great dolourous bell begins to swing back and forth, it's clapper smashing back and forth against the sides of the bell.

And what a wicked bell it is, for the sound alone is not all. Ity rings and rings and rings, destined to toll on for hours and hours before it's clamour finaly ceases. And as if that was not all, the shockwaves from the bell, magicaly enhanced, are strong enough to break glass and cause serious damage to living creatures in the vicinity. Around the corner two creatures stop their sqaubbling for a moment to listen to the strange peelings of the deadly bell before falling back to their scratching, thumping and biting.

Fortunately Ellion is nowhere near close enough to the bell for harm to become her, but it's loud tolling causes the caveman to look up in surprise. As he does so Rhana siezes the opportunity and rams the end of her staff into his temple. He falls in a crumpled heap, never to rise again....

Fight's over folks, that bell's going to be ringing for the next 4 hours now unless someone can find a way of stopping it. Yeah, I rolled the d4 and it came up max :(.

Bodhi

Ellion looks sheepishly at Sarian and shrugs her shoulders
"Well... it COULD have been a monster... It really could..."
She rips part of her shirt up, rolls up the textile and stuffs it in her ears. Then she moves up to see if she can find out if the bell is possible to loosen from where it's hanging.

"Don't worry, I would have shot first as well. Let's not forget what this place is called. :icon_wink: Sarian are you ok?" Dekion also Checks the body to see what he can find.

Don't think we can hear you. We're at opposite ends of a corridor with a clamouring bell between us remember?  :icon_wink:

As Ellion approaches the bell she feels her body begin to shake from the vibrations it's sending off. Surely the shockwaves shouldn't be this strong. Does she want to continue?

Meanwhile Dekion's search of the caveman reveals that he was wearing some bits of fur and owned a club. He also wore a leather thong about his wrist from which dangle four rat's skulls.
