OOC: Between all of the serches did we get everything of worth/use? What did Milano find? What is the quality of the axe?

"Anyone want the axe? I guess we can keep searching." Dekion goes back out to Rhana.

"yes, I think I am done." So, I avoided the dart, right?

After placing the rather heavy goblet into my backpack after spilling out the rest of the liquid (and having a little bit to drink) and cleaning it a little with my cloaths, I search the body for his 2gp and note, then continue to search the floor

"Well I don't nead an axe, I thought you might."

how long is the dart, can it be held firmly in one hand without getting too close to the poison, and is there something that could cover the poisoned end for now on the floor if I wanted to keep it to, say, stab someone in the back with it? (not you guys before I get hate mail)

"I think we might find a use for it." Dekion takes the axe only if it fits in his pack.

Okay, quick summary: The axe is well made. The barbarian hadn't opened his box near the entrance (it had writing on so he ignored it) so he doesn't have 2gp or a note. The dart is small (it had to fit into the table leg) so using it again might be tricky (but not impossible). Also there's not much poisonous paste left on it.

eyeolas

and there is ... on the floor?

I also search him for his key

Balgin Stondraeg

Well he's not listed as having it so he might've just thrown it away or he could have kept it. I'm going to assume he kept it because he thought he'd need it for a door or something so yes, he has his key. There's nothing useful on the floor (mostly broken pottery, mouldy cloth and other stuff like that).

eyeolas

I take a few peices of the cleanest pieces of cloth I can find and try to get as much of the poison off of my leg guard as possible with one (my hand is on the other side of the cloth so I don't have to get it near the poison) and wrap the same cloth around the poisoned end of the dart several times and tie it securely and place it in a side pouch in my backpack. I also take the key, and a peice of the strongest (least likely to break if hit by a dart) material or substance that is on the floor, say, "wait here a second" and run back to the room with all of the boxes.

Would I know the names of the barbarian? If yes I then open his box and take the 2gp. If no I take one of the untouched (untill I had a look) boxes, place the sturdy peice of 'substance' infront of the key hole (to block the dart hitting me in the hace), hold the key hole and material away from me (into a wall) and hit the box lightly untill the trap goes off. I then take one of the other peices of clean cloth, tip the box upside down so the dart falls out and very carefully wrap it in the cloth. If this works I repeat it for the other boxes

Yes, it is a leangthy plan, but 10 poisoned darts can't be a bad thing to have for a rogue.

Okay, I'm going to rule that you've basicaly described a disarm trap attempt so I'll roll some dice but I'll give you a little bonus (1 or 2) to each roll because you were resourceful and worked out a fairly good way of doing it. When that's done I'll post another update.

Sarian doesn't know the barbarian's name but he reckons it wasn't Tsubodai or Sir Edorac which leaves him with three other names (two of which are not likely to be the elven woman's name). So that narrow's it down to two: Throm and Hjalmar.

Ok, disarm trap sounds fair, but the main point of it was I would take all of the 9 boxs' darts, then just try the key in each box with no trap remaining.

Before Dekion packs the axe he takes it over to Rhana "Do you think this is of sufficient quality to have been enchanted. I don't want you to waste any magic that may be needed in here, but I figure your educated eye might help." Once she has taken a look he packs the axe away just in case it is useful later.

Simple answer: oh yes.

Disarm rolls:

Sarian is able to recover two poisoned darts from the boxes (it's a different poison to the other one). He bungles two attempts (either broke the dart or it fired into the wall/floor and broke) and one actualy catches him, grazing his finger as it comes out.

Bad fort save I'm afraid :( -5 con. I suggest he gets medical attention before making his second save as the lower con lowers his save even more.

The two darts he has recovered are fort save at 20, first time it's -d6 con, the second time it's -2d6 con.

I allowed Sarian to sue luck on his fortitude save afterwards since it was an unexpected save. The extra 7 he got took his save up to 24 (where it had previously been a 17) and he only needed a 20. No con damage afterall but he'll still have to make the secondary save in a bit.

"This isn't over!" I yell at the dart that just hit me, did I fail a reflex save aswell? shaking my fist as I turn to run back to the group.

"Help, Poison, dart, boxes, finger, me! (pause) ME!" I stamer as I run up to Rhana. "Do you know anything to help poisons?" I ask her, looking over to Ellion, trying to get his attention aswell.

EDIT: (going to bed so may as well post now)

"Thanks for your time folks."

I stumble back to the box room with a fresh piece of clean cloth, pick up and wrap the dart that hit me (assuming it still has some poison on it and is in one piece), then take out the barbarian's key and try both of the boxes I think could be his (being cautiouse that there may be another dart), take the 2 gp, leave the note and stumble back to the group.

"NOW I'm done," I say to Ellion

Bodhi

"Sorry I have not been offered the aid against poisons for this day" Ellion sadly replies.
"I could heal your wounds but poisons are beyond me. I will pray to the goddes tonight and see what she grants."

(Silly me. I should have picked some cure poison spell or other  :icon_redface:)

What? No first aid? You can use a heal check to assist his save against the poison (it'd be a big help).

Fortunately Sarian picks Hjalmar's box first and the key opens it without setting the dart off. Therefore he knows that Throm's box is still armed and dangerous.
