Ellion looks to see if the other doors are open or closed - without walking past the open door.
She readies her crossbow for firing.
Any sounds at all?

Rhana retreives Milano from her cloak and asks him to scout up to the doorframe and to come back and tell me what he sees inside the room.

OOC: Does Spider Climb affect Milano?  If so, Rhana will send him along the wall.  If not, it is the floor for him!

Further up the hallway there is another door but it's closed. No sounds emanate from this open doorway.

If the spell or effect has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the familiar if it moves farther than 5 feet away and will not affect the familiar again even if it returns to the master before the duration expires.

So yes, Milano is affected by spider climb but only so long as he stays really close to you.

Ah I see now. Just one more door and a T-junction. I'd suggest we have the familiar check the T-junction as well. Just to cover our backs

"I'll just have Milano look in the first doorway, and then scout ahead further, if it is safe to do so." Rhana says to the rest of the group, so that they know what she is doing.

"Anyone with a missile weapon, might want to make ready, just in case.  Just make sure you point it at the guys trying to kill us, this time, Sarian."  Rhana winks at him to let him know she is only teasing.

Milano the rat scutters off and peeks his head around the corner of the doorway. Shortly afterwards he returns without having entered the room. Rhana picks him up and stroeks him making lots of little "a-woogle woogle woogle" kind of sounds and the rat squirms and writhes and squeeks back.

He reports (to her in their unique pet language) that through the doorway was a small clean room. it had lots of little holes in the wall that he'd love to scurry into and make nests but they were all too high up and he didn't fancy climbing to them.

Rhana relays this information to the rest of the group, and adds to it her opinion that this sounds like a trap of some sort and the room should be bypassed.

She then checks with Milano to see if the doorway that he looked through was the only entrance to the room?

Dekion looks in the door to see if the hole are in the walls or the cieling. He also looks at the floor to check for a pressure plate, trip wire or anything that can set off a trap. "Why don't we throw the barbarians body in the room from here and see if a trap goes off?"

"So long as you're carrying the body, you can do what you like."  Rhana winks again.

"Although, the stuffed birds are closer."

"Whats left of them" he says with a wink. "It's a good idea I could try it with one of those?" Dekion goes off to get the bird to try it. When he throws it into the room he gets out of the doorway and behind his shield.

Rhana retires 10 feet from the doorway, back towards the cavern with the statue, beforeDekion throws the bird in.

She advises the others to follow her lead.

Ellion follows her willingly. She's stopped clutching her mouth and instead constantly spits to get rid of the foul taste.
"If the bird gets fried we have food" she adds wryly.

Milano confirms that there were many exits from the room, mostly little holes high up in the walls. There was only the one door 'though.

Dekion wanders off and returns with the decimated returns of a stuffed bird which he hurls into the room. Nothing happens. All of the holes are in an evenly spaced row at the top of the far wall.
