Prepare to enter Deathtrap Dungeon

"Erm - maybe someone should check out the chest up there.  Careful though...... We don't want any unexpected unwelcome surprises..."

"Looks like it could be trapped to me." she whipers, as she reaches into her robe and pulls out Milano.

"I could send in my little friend to have a look see, first."

"Sounds like a good idea to me" Dekion rubs some of his bruises "Anyone care to spare some curative magic or prayers for the first line of defense?"

Milano looks sarcasticaly up at Rhana. How is he meant to clamber up to that shelf on the wall to examine the chest?

[Keeper]

Rhana looks sarcastically back at Milano and casts Spider Climb on the little fellow.

"Does that answer your question, my good rat?" she asks out loud whilst communicating with the rat in their special way.  "And check the floor for traps that us lumbering giants might set off whilst you're at it, too, please."

And with that she gently places him on the floor outside the door so he can do his work.

Ellion stays a discrete distance back  - out for range of some traps.

Milano scurries across the floor, straight up the wall and onto the shelf beside the chest where he pauses a moment to make water. He sits thewre for a while, nose twitching and then scampers up the side of the chest to peer in at the keyhole (standing disturbingly on the side) and thence to crouch upon the lid. Rhana's nose wrinkles. There's an unpleasant burnt smell in her nostrils she's sure her rat's picking up on. Milano shifts about uncomfortably. Something in the chest smells bad and he wants to return to his mistress but he still feels her urge to examine the chest.

Will she recall him?

[Keeper]

Yes.

"Milano, please come back and tell me what you've seen."

Ellion looks across, waiting expectantly to find out if the rat found anything useful...

I've just realised that there probably isn't a keyhole but anyway - unfortunately I also have no sense of smell so I can't tell you what the thing in there might smell like because I don't know what smells like what, and if the substance even exists in the real world or not :(. Awkward huh?

Right, so keeping things simple Milano didn't like what he smelled but it doesn't translate well to Rhana over the emotional link. All she gets is a strong feeling that she really doesn't want to smell whatever it was ever again (or at least not 'till shes' forgottne how natsy it smell). And coming from a rat who's pretty much omnivorous that's saying something.

OK.  Did Milano see anything else in the room apart from the chest and the shelf?

Rhana reports to the others what Milano has seen.
