Keeper

"Well done, Throm.  You have proved your might and your wisdom, once more."

Rhana then turns to proceed down the corridor.

Dekion smiles and laughs, "there go my concerns. So do we go down the corridor or check the door?

Okay, rather than spend ages using the map as an exuse I'm going to bend stuff a little bit. Rather than giving you the option to go back and check an empty room with a number of dead ends, wrong turns and an animated door that attacks, I'm going to force the group in a certain direction momentarily.

Insects begin to spill from the broken glass and in order to avoid them Throm moves forwards up the hallway. The rest of you reason that it'd be safer to go past the insect swarm and be unable to retreat than to be stuck here behind them and unable to advance later, should the room prove to be a dead end. So you all move forwards (later the insects will disperse enough for you to go back across them if you so desire).

A short distance up the hallway there is a side passage to the right which ends abruptly at a dead end about 7' or 8' in. A large pool of water approximately eight feet wide and five across blocks the end off this short corridor, which ends immediately in a wall on the other side of the pool.

For those wishing to ignore the pool the main hallway continues onwards into the darkness, lit by the occassional cieling mounted glow crystals that illuminate the dungeon.

Annoyingly there was an important clue earlier on in the original adventure that's missing from the d20 one. There was a shaft of glowing light with faces moving in it. If someone stepped into the light the ghostly face of a girl would speak a rhyme to them about diving into the water when a tunnel ended in order to continue on the correct path.

Dekion takes the discarded metal shield he had found earlier from his pack and dips it into the liquid. "I just want to make sure it isn't acid. So do we go through this tunnel or down the corridor?"

The shield does not get eaten away by acid. It does, however, not scrud*e on the bottom of a puddle. This pond is deep and being set up against a dead end right around a corner like that, it's obviously got some sort of special purpose.

"Well, I can't say I'm to fond of that puddle, geiser, thing, but I'm possitive it isn't coincidence that it's there (mumbled "bloody dungeon") and I wouldn't be surprised if there was something like another gemstone down there"

"I'm willing to jump in and take a look." Dekion looks to the party to see their reactions.

Ellion stares at Dekion and shakes her head in disbelief
"well if your mind is set on it... Anyone got a rope left to secure him with? If the dumb fool gets stuck we can at least pull him out."

With a smile Dekion says "Thanks for for the concern. So who has the rope?"

Keeper

"I thought we had left it somewhere.  Just get in there, and stop worrying about getting your handlebar moustache wet.  If you're in there for too long, I'll come and fish you out." Rhana jibes, smiling at Dekion.

I know the rope was left dangling in the pit trap but Rhana cast spider climb and recovered it. Throm then used it to lower people down the pit and then he climbed down with his bare hands so I think you guys have actualy still got the rope.

Dekion ties the rope around himself and jumps into the water. He swims down to get a look at the bottom or to see where it goes.

Dekion jumps into the water and lands with a splash. As he does so his leg slips and he loses his footing. It takes him a moment to realise that his leg must have gone through the wall. Taking a deep breath he lowers his head below the water and observes that the "pool" is actualy a U bend tunnel that has been filled with water. Rising up for breath he shakes his head, drops of water flying about him in a fine spray.
