Prepare to enter Deathtrap Dungeon

Rhana keeps quite, thinking it better that a warrior talk to this barbarian.  She knows that barbarians don't always enjoy the company of those educated in the ways of the arcane.

Ellion discreetly covers her nose Barbarians! Have they never even HEARD of soap? and stays silent as well.

[Balgin Stondraeg]

Looking both left and right Dekion spies a corridor each way heading off into darkness.

"Lets see what is this way" Dekion points to the left.

[Balgin Stondraeg]

The passage to the left soon reaches a dead end but a piece of tattered old brown parchment is nailed to the wall with writing on it. Throm declares that he "doesn't need no stupid writing" as it "can't mean anything really important anyway".

The note reads Beware the Trialmasters.

"Hmm, I recon weshpuld have taken the first one we saw, but wegot away the better of that encounter" I say to Dekion, avoiding the gaze of the barbarian and his oversized axe.

Was the voice who I faced in the flooding room a trial master?

"Then lets head the other way. The note just told us something we already knew" Dekion heads the other way.

Do we get a map?

Heading the other way the party soon comes to another dead end but this time there is a deep pit in the floor, possibly allowing access to a lower level. With a snort of derision Throm offers to "hold the rope and lower you lot down and then descend myself into the darkness."

Dekion smiles at the offer of help. "I'll help secure the rope and the rest can head down. Sarian I suggest you go first and look for traps along the way."

[Bodhi]

"Just hold one second"
Ellion sniffs, bends down and takes a long peek down the hole (darksight remember?) Does she see anything? Or hear anything?
If she sees and hears nothing she throws a pebble down the hole to check the depth.

[Balgin Stondraeg]

Peering into the pit Ellion can barely make out a floor and three walls at the edge of her vision. The pit is 50' deep and descends into the end of a tunnel that leads off to the left.

[Keeper]

"Thankyou, Throm.  I shall decend first, unless anyone objects." and with that Rhana casts Spider Climb once more, picks up the other end of the rope and moves five feet down the wall of pit, and assuming she can't see any hazards, proceeds to the bottom, taking the rope with her.

Good call.  Taking the end of the rope with her, after making sure Throm is holding the other end.
