Prepare to enter Deathtrap Dungeon

As Dekion paces up towards the corner he observes the door in the right hand wall before the mirrors which his companions had previously ignored.

There's a map update.

"Guys it looked like we missed something. There is a door here." Dekion gets his shield ready and opens the door. He doesn't cross the threshold and just looks in from outside.

So what does he see?

This room is mostly empty exept for an ornately carved table set in the centre of the far wall. The table has been carved to resemble some sort of serpent shaped demon and stands about three feet tall. Resting on the table is a human skull with a large amethyst set into each socket. Lying on the floor by the table are two large balls,  one appears to be made of metal and is about 5" wide whilst the other is made of wood and is roughly 10" wide.

"Look at what I found. I think it needs to be checked for traps." Dekion looks at the floor and takes his time with the study, he is looking for any signs of a trap or trigger associated with the floor.

Yes. Both the wooden ball and the metal ball are on the floor by the podium thing.

Rhana relieves Sarian of the new Gemstone and puts it in her pack before ushering everyone along behind Dekion.

How high is the ceiling, please, Balgin?

Did no one else notice the three crossbows in the corner of the picture?

I search each ball, the floor around the podium, the podium thouroughly, each amethyst thouroughly, and the wall near the podium

Sarian searches and finds eight loaded crossbows mounted onto the wall aimed at roughly where a person picking up the skull would stand.
