"I won't put you in any danger Lunk." At least not on purpose, but I NEED to know what is over there. He could easily swim it if it were deep, I on the other hand... Olothros steps into the stream intent on crossing it to see what is on the other side. "Lunk you might want to have your weapon at the ready."

The intrepid, some would say foolhardy, elf ventures into the stream, wading to the other side, numbed with cold. He's chilled to the bone, and left fatigued by the freezing chill of the water when he makes it to the opposite bank. Olothoros feels as weak as a child.

OOC: Fortitude save DC 15; result 7. Failure results in 1 point of subdual damage and hypthermia (fatigue - cannot run or charge and effective penalty of -2 to Strength and Dexterity. Still waiting on Cheddar's sheet to adjudicate his action. Mike - I'll give you 1 XP for this.

The rundown building in front of you now is mostly free of ice.

Shivering and almost falling over Olothros calls over to his much larger friend "Lunk are you ok? I need some help." I'm so cold! Wanting to see what is over here might kill me!

Lunk gleefully sploshes across the stream.  "Let's Go!  What's holdin ya up?"

"Do you have anything dry in that pack? I am freezing. Lets see what is going on over here." Olothros despite his shaking heads for the building.

Olothros smiles "I'm glad you came with me. Lets see what is ahead of us"

OOC: Lunk takes a Fort check (DC 15) - 15+5=20. Lunk avoids hypothermia.

Lunk wades across the stream, acknowledging the cold but he's tough; he can take it. He reaches the other side with ease and offers his staggering comrade his blanket.

OOC: So what do we see when we start loking around and checking the building?

The shattered remnants of tile mosaics that originally covered the walls lie in drifts about the floor. The deep, square pits set in the floor indicate that this building was perhaps a bath house. These pits are now filled with noxious, murky water. Your light reflects on the ripples of the water, creating bizarre and unsettling patterns on the walls. From somewhere in the dim, unlit reaches of the building, a furtive splashing reaches your ears.

Olothros looks in the direction of the sounds. "Lunk did you hear that?" Immediately he starts thinking of the spells he has memorized.

OOC: Search & Spot checks please

"Ayup, hear dat.  HOY -- you there!"  Shouts Lunk, as he takes off in the direction of the splashing, axe in hand.

OOC -- Bring it on.

Olthoros feebly girds himself for a confrontation as his barbarian friend barrels along to the back of the ruined bath-house. As Lunk roars and runs he sees the source of the splashing; a colony of small, white, eyeless lizards. At the sound of the half-orc's approach, the tiny reptiles flee through a crack in the wall.

Lunk is left looking rather comical, having bellowed a challenge at a group of harmless animals.
