Jus' came back from my brother after to much drinks and to much food. I'm enjoying it OK. I allways grow grumpy the days BEFORE (when the cleaning and preparing is to be done) but a lot less grumpy DURING the holidays when there's time for wining and dining  :icon_wink:

I must agree that I was in quite a mellow spirit last night after assisting my father to sample his new bottle of whiskey.  A Portellen (sp?) - a distillery that has been silent since 1923 but started distilling just over six years ago; and Dad had a bottle of their six year old at cask strength (61% abv in this case).

I only had one (well, two, maybe) and I didn't need any more than that :D

I have to admit, whisky is the one thing I'd like to get good at judging.  Wine's never really thrilled me, but a good single malt is nice stuff.

Judging? If it tastes good it's good, if it tastes bad it's not good. Simple as that.
I used to drink whiskey quite a lot (TO much in fact... Three quarter of a litre a day when it was at its worst) so I've almost quit. My friends and relatives haven't caught up on that so I allways get whiskey from various people as a gift. Since I don't drink it I've found many good ways to use whiskey in my cooking. Really brings out a great taste in most meat and poultry dishes. Kind of a fake "game" taste.
It feels a bit sacrilegous sometimes to pour in a fine expensive whiskey in the pot but if it's there I might as well use it.

By the way: Whiskey I drink, whisky I don't. And bourbon just makes me shudder at the thought of it...

Isn't the original scotsgaelic spelling uiske by the way? As in "uiske beatha", water of life?

But Buckfast is the REAL pride of Scotland. Alcohol and chemicals you don't want to know about (among them heaploads of caffeine and guarana, all "uppers") and the great advertising slogan "Drink fast, fight fast, f*ck fast, buckfast"  :icon_wink:
Noone judges that, it's purely meant for getting Very drunk, very fast.

By the way if the dwarf is such a tough fighter, why is he hiding? I think the 5 of us can take him. Either way let me know what you guys want to fight. I was leaning toward the minotaur since I dont have any antivenom, but if Elion can cast cure poison then I have no preference.

Because someone's got to raise the appropriate portcullis (and if he lets a nasty beast into the arean he doesn't want to help you if it decides to have a go at him, he's judging your fighting skills, not his own :p). I think he's something like an 8th or 9th level fighter (with good equipment, none of it's magical 'though).

I am sure 5 against 1 is more than he can handle three can hit him without even getting close and I am sure Sarian can get in a good backstab with that +4 dagger. Throm and Dekion can handle the heavy hitting. I am just tuired of anything that has to do with the Baron and am mad we didn't get the first mage and whoever had Sarian locked in the water trap. I guess I am sort of in character with this one.

Either way I am waiting to hear back from the others on what they think we should fight.

Don't worry, just because he's outside now doesn't mean he won't be outside when he lets you out and sends you on your way afterwards :).

And while he's pretty tough the third (and final) trialmaster isn't (and he's fair game if you want to pick a fight with him too, he won't mind as much :p).
