Back now - just didn't want to hold up last night's action, as I knew I'd be busy all evening watching NE whup the CPs! Go Brady! :D Yeah it was last Friday, but I've got Sky+ (DVR) :D

Right, were we playing AD&D, right?  And I'm now an undead half-elf sorceress, right? :D


Now, can someone remind me what these "aforementioned rods" are?  A link or a quote would be fine - I can't just find the original reference :shrug:

It's some kind of steel rods (I think) protruding from the wall along a corridor. Seems like "obvious trap" to me.

Wooden, not steel (and I think they're painted red). Think of monkey bars or even a ladder lying down along the floor (but a short distance above it, not high up for hanging and swinging off).

Peering into the darkness she spies an odd construction. About twenty feet down the corridor she spies a series of twelve wooden poles that span the corridor, each about ayard apart from it's neighbours, at a height of roughly a foot above the floor. Their ends are firmly secured into the walls. Beyond them the passage continues beyond the extent of her darkvision.

Actually, I was thinking Spider Climb, but if you want to think Electric Floor, you go right ahead :D

I have no idea what the Electric Floor spell does, though, so you'll have to fill me in!  :icon_mrgreen:

I think it's the one where you turn into a dalek, set off the sprinkler system then fly up in the air and shoot a power cable/box thing to electrocute all the squadies with just one shot (two if you had to shoot something to set off the sprinklers :p).

Why don't we all just step back and throw something heavy st the pressure plate on the floor and set off the trap and then we can move forward?

I can think of a reason but I'm no a player (and given another factor it's not a very good reason, but I thought of a second reason too :p).

I once again feel the need to remind people that magic missile cannot target inanimate objects but must be aimed at "living" creatures.

Nope. Reason 1: Whatever it triggers might make a lot of noise which could attract stuff to your presence. The reason that's not a very good reason is because there's a bell already ringing but the new sound could still get something's attention.

Reason number 2: Whatever it triggers could damage the thing that you throw so you'd need to use something disposable.

That was my first thought.  The reason I suggested the caveman's body is that I see no other use for it, for us.

However, I just noticed that Balgin accidently commented that we were expected to approach from the other direction, so perhaps we should go around?
