Yes, Balgin, I'm aware of your opinion. And by Rule Zero, when you're DM I abide by your opinions. However different DM's feel differently, and the rules actually support a different interpretation.

I read the whole thing in 3 seconds visually, and can speak it quickly in 5 seconds (which is how I would imagine someone in the middle of a fight doing it - quickly, scared etc)

It's fine. Especially as he can say it at the same time as doing something else.

Well, rules are mainly there to be interpreted (very loosely) by the GM as he sees fit I've allways felt. In fact I've had a few of my best roleplaying sessions with NO rules, just pure storytelling.
Perhaps a bit of a long message for a tight tense situation though? (which is much more important than rules - staying in character and sticking to the feel of the game) On the other hand that nosy elf is a rather babbling fella' so for him perhaps it's just the right amount of words ;-)

I can agree with you there. I've ahd some very good rule-less sessions myself. But none of them featured spiderman style speaking complete sentences between each punch in the middle of a fight. You'd get halfway through it and then find your mouth full of fist :p.

It hasn't and it won't! Don't get me wrong I like frothers and frequent it myself, but it isn't the environment I want here. This and all threads under 'playthings' is Fabian's domain and he has total say about anything game related. He can move, edit/mod, or even delete whatever he likes. While discussion and suggestions are always a good thing, they are not when they degenerate into pointless bickering and it will not be tolerated.

This all started with Balgin sharing his opinion on something that happened in game. Mr teufel expressed his opinion, which I later agreed with. Balgin then came back and agreed with what I wrote about Fabian's opinion being the only one that mattered in this instance. Fabian comes in and posts his thought and Blagin takes it as Fabian taking the piss. He said he wasn't and I didn't take it that way either. He was explaining his stance on it (which is something I wanted to know since I am in his game).

Bodhi made a valiant effort at moving the thread back on track. I just felt the need to post this. Either way everyone has spoken and as Fabian said: it is done!

Luck and then some. He has all of those enslaved followers we will have to deal with too. The funny thing I am not worried about the beast, I am more concerned with casting a spell and someone running me through.

Erm, don't you lose your dex bonus to ac if you run more than a double move? It's often good to run to engage (and even to threaten) but sometimes running has it's disadvantages too.
