I'd probably say that he would be able to sence your presence. Wheather or not they pay attention to it, think it's someone or just themselves, or actually can decifer where you are from that is another matter that I'd decide on for each creature (maybe with a sence motive check)

Unfortunately (for the game) I'm going on holiday tommorow with limited access to a computer (once or twice maybe) for two and a half weeks so the game may come to a standstill.
