Balgin is the sniper also good for close quarters fighting?

About as good as an extremely heavily armoured cleric with no close combat feats and no healing ability :p. So better than wizards and some thief types and tough enough to make a really good support fighter but not really very good at dishing it out.

I'm actualy tempted to go for one of those "sorceror clerics" from the Complete Divine instead, but I'm not sure I can commit to another game at the moment.

Well I worked out a sort of nasty favoured soul/divine champion concept that seriously abused the hell out of the vigour spells bigtime :). But to my mind having no turning is too large a price to pay for sponting anything. It actualy looks more like a warlock than a sorceror (but with something closer to the sorceror's versatility).

They're the class which makes you spend ages working out exactly how the extend spell feat will affect the vigour spells.

I have a minor problem with the ECL/Next Level Goal on my CS, otherwise it's ok.

Don't worry about that too much. Eyeolas can sort that for you. As long as you make the character right , it will be the least of your issues.

I think I could be.  I've just dropped a couple of online games and I was thinking of looking for something else.

I've just read the intro on p1 of this thread.  So what kind of characters are we looking at?  Standard 3.5 non-humans?  Anything else I've missed?
