Also, I think I'll give her a guitar or nearest equivalent (5gp).  She may not have any ranks in Perform, but why should bards get all the fun?  I'll try to develop her playing and singing as we go on.  :icon_wink:

So she'll be taking some "scream/nasty horrible sound screech cone" type spells then huh? :p

Hi

Lute is the instrument of pain you're looking for.

As for 'proper' rogue .......? (LOL)
My 'Tailor' can find/disarm traps just like a 'Rogue', same goes for Open Locks. I'm happy to trade my Evasion & Sneak Attack for shed loads of spells. When I reach 4th lvl I'm actually BETTER than a Rogue with Traps, etc. (Invisibility/Knock/etc..).

Of course, there's still room for a Rogue playing a Fighter Concept - using Sneak Attack for extra damage. Just concentrate on different skills. (Bluff, Knowledges, Tumble etc).

I actually forgot you had those abilites. Then the party has all it needs and we should be ready for anything. Thanks Paul.

Hi

Yep - got everything I need - except for a home 'net connection.
'Net cafe bit awkward because of time (shuts 9.00PM), and the time difference with our overseas friends.

BTW  Joining another game at our club, and playing a NON SPELLCASTER  :icon_w00t: This maybe a first in AD&D/D&D, as Balgin can confirm.

OK - it's a tad broken 28pt buy, a Dwarf Samurai5/Kensai4  " You call that a sword?..... This is what a sword looks like........."etc. Hehehehehehhe

Cheers across the pond

What's wrong with just playing for fun?

EDIT: Just added in my intro post.  I assume that we'll just leave off continuing until DTD ends, but seeing as the intro was there and Paul had posted I thought I'd officially introduce Hasta.  I've left her wording vague enough that she could be talking to the others for the first time or meeting up with them again after a few days apart.

It's true folks. He nearly always plays spellcasters of the "Combat Wizard" type (as in the first level wizard with a crossbow and heavy mace who actualy uses them both a lot :)). He's been playing druids a lot recently (very close combat oriented druids mind).

QuoteWhat's wrong with just playing for fun?

Hey, that was me joining in the fun okay :).

QuoteI assume that we'll just leave off continuing until DTD ends

Well.... The introduction can be a bit lazy and slow and I can take it slow enough that it doesn't leave Linear Mode until Deathtrap Dungeon ends (and considering how nasty some of the DTD encounters are then it could very easily end sooner than people think).

So Night Below is officialy started and running now but it's like the slow and lazy flow of a river down near the sea rather than the rapid rush of a fresh spring emerging from the mountains into a mighty river.

Sorry, I blame the internet again for not transmitting jokes well.   :icon_wink:

Sounds like Paul's the polar opposite to me then - I used never to play spellcasters, and Rogan is actually the first full caster I made, though I now have a druid on another thread.  I'm getting to like them.

PaulH

Hi

Aaah. Druids - the most versatile class in the entire game. (OK - Clerics might be just as good with their Domain powers).

Good saves & skill points.  OK BAB. Same goes for HP. Can summon, heal, cast elemental spells, buff party, shapeshift, (strong monsters make up for fighter's better BAB). Can even feed the party with Survival skill.

And the spells you can cast on a simple (FREE) club!    :icon_twisted:

But I digress.....

Don't let the "but I'm just a simple Tailor..." fool you. Others who 'upset' me (and failed DC16 Will save) have ended up unconscious, robbed, even strung up upside down above an open latrine.  :icon_eek: (Yep - did that to another character in another campaign).

Cheers
But I'm jus a simple Tailor.........

Hey Balgy, could you take some of my skill points and relocate them to "search" and "sense motive". Also, does anyone mind if I have a cat in this game (not one that woul eat your familiar, don't worry)?

Bah, you've not lived until you've Baleful Polymorphed someone into a spider and used them as the spell component for Spider Climb!  :icon_mrgreen:

Hi

Wasn't that high a level wizard. Anyway, problem is polymorphed creatures always revert to normal form when they die.

Just ask Balgy about time I played a Cleric of Boccob, with Trickery Domain. Disguised self as an Orc, then declared myself as new leader to some Orc guards in a dungeon. Made them show me traps, fight monsters for me, etc. Great time. Told them Big Boss sent me, because I had 'Shiny Shield' (was magical), and they failed Sense Motive.
hehehehehehehe

Hi

Was excellent as usual. Bit quieter without Living Greyhawk, but Paizo's got another Living campaign until their official ruleset comes out in August. Managed to get to level 3!

My Druid's companion is now a 4HD Wolf, better than our front line fighter.
Got one game of Eberron, and one 'unofficial' LG game, where my Clr 3/Warmage 4/Mystic Theurge 5 joined a party 'playing up' to APL 14. Last encounter was a Huge Cloud Giant with his Fire Giant guards.

Things going so-so, until Cloud Giant did a quickened Divine Favour, and a Righteous Might. Nobody mentioned he was a Cleric level about 11-13!!!! (AAAAAhggggghhhhhhhhh).

Our Druid (in Tendicrolus form) down to about -60HP (Delay Death'd). Barbarian going the same. Only one thing for it - 3rd Lvl Magic Domain Spell - Dispel Magic. Clutch Big Straw. Both Hands. Strong Grip. Quick prayer to Boccob......

Targeted Dispel Magic on Cloud Giant. (I'm effective CL8). After about 10 spells, GM turned page, told me to continue! After about 3 mins (seemed like 10), with people coming across to witness history, Giant back down to Huge size, and only 15' reach.
Back off & cast couple Scorching Rays (CL12). Giant finally goes down, but we need him alive! Close Wounds, Giant lives. Job done.

Also played Settlers Cataan, and first games of Carcaconne. (Brilliant game)

Now caught a cold - losing voice rapidly.   :icon_sick:

Already looking forward to next year....
Cheers

Yep. Busses were a nightmare 'though but it was good to see me old mate Paul again. I even got a game of WFRP in and 2 of Cursed Empire (which is handy as I'd never played it before and will be running it sometime soon).
