So Woojitsu did you think about a duskblade? or a warmage? Both are perfect for a fighter/wizard type

Balgin I am going to finish my wizard just in case. If there are to then he can just be the genral well rounded one.

We have a cleric of Pelor, a noble Dwarf, a paladin...More than enough to get big BIG troubles  :icon_twisted:

It is a solid group we have. Too bad we don't have a dedicated rogue. Aside from that we have everything else we are going to need. Plenty of up front fighting is always a good thing too.

The duskblade and warmage don't quite fit the concept that I have in mind (also, the warmage seems unbalanced).  It looks like there is enough arcane power in the party to support my second choice of characters.  I will play an elf wizard whose 1st level (and one or two others, down the line) will be in fighter, with the idea of prestigeing into arcane archer at 11th level.

32-point buy:

Str 15
Dex 16
Con 14
Int 14
Wis 11
Cha 8

After racial mods:

Str 15
Dex 18
Con 12
Int 14
Wis 11
Cha 8

Okay, I'll star a thread in a bit then :).

Ok so he will be more of a second line fighter, medium magical support role. Sounds cool!

15 (8)
16(10)
14 (6)
14 (6)
11 (3)
8 (0)

33 points total. That's one too many mate.

Personaly I'd drop a point of str and raise cha but it's up to Woojitsu to do as he pleases.

Custom_Hobby

But did't he use too many points? So it would just be removing a point to make it just 32. I figured remove it from one of the odd numbers because it wont affect any of his ability adj's

Str 15 is 8 points, str 14 is 6 points.

So he can afford to drop a point of strength and raise wisdom or charisma by one.

Custom_Hobby

I see, I really wasn't looking at the point values at the time. That could work well then, it wouldn't affect the ability bonus at all so he doesn't lose anything and get a tad more Cha.

Well, I don't see why he's got a strength of fifteen as an archer unless he wants to push it to 16 at a later level (which doesn't make much sense for an archer unless he's planning on doulbing up as pack mule :p). So he can easily afford to drop it to fourteen which gives him a free point. It could only go on wisdom or charisma (since all the others are already fourteen or higher) so I'd raise the low one to prevent death by ability score drain.

Custom_Hobby

I thought if he was going wizard at all that his Int should be higher.

Well with a 14 his 5 bonus points could make a 19 by 20th but a few more points there wouldn't hurt. We'll see how it goes 'though.

Woojitsu

I double checked my points and still made a mistake.   :Doh!:

Dropping a point of Str for Cha sounds good.  The reason I put points into Str was in anticipation of picking up a composite bow at some point, but +2 is plenty for that.  I only have a 14 in Int because my character will never make it past 4th level spells (unfortunately, arcane archer doesn't give spells as previous class like some prestige classes do).

Okay then, your character sheet's been updated. You've got 16 skill points to spend, 80gp starting money and 1 feat to chose. We're happy to help you with all those decisions if you're not too rules savvy :).

Also character creation is currently at the point where we could technicaly get started now and have a slow and lazy beginning while I finish off the character sheets or we could wait a few more weeks. The introduction would hopefuly be slow enough for the remaining two character sheets to be finished by the time you'll actualy need them :).

Chrysallis : I've put the feats into Kharsis' statblock but I haven't factored in equipment yet. I'll do it sometime soon 'though and you're basicaly ready to go. That'll basicaly bring us up to two finished characters (Thorgrin & Kharsis) and two nearly finished characters (Godric & Garrick).
