More good news on the diving front!
Just booked my diving trip that I got as a gift for my fortieth birthday.
10:th of October it's time to go to Malta for a week. I've never been there but apparently it's great diving. It's a package tour with my diving club and a few courses are included so after that I'll get me a little card saying I'm a "PADI master Scuba diver" apparently the highest "rank" one can have in recreational PADI diving without working with it.

It'll be a few hundred dives more before I'm a master scuba diver for REAL though  :icon_wink: And THEN I'll feel ready to take the whole "Divemaster - instructor" route and get me some holiday jobs with it.
Oh and go to Mexico and get my "Full cave" certificate  :icon_twisted:

Odd: It's the first time I travel abroad without any kids in twelve years...

Can't afford an underwatercamera I'm afraid (and wouldn't know how to use one...). But I'll bring me regular one.
Perhaps someone else on the trip will take some underwaterphotos that he/she can mail to me...

I think they make some cheap ones (the disposable variety), you just have to search a little.

Nah, disposable ones hold to a depth of max 5 meters. We'll mostly be at 25-30 so that doesn't work. A real functioning underwater camera (including the very strong lights needed for some depth and ALLWAYS needed in swedish conditions where visibility is usually between 1 and 3 meters) usually runs around 1500-2000 euro.

Pressure is tough on electronical equipment. Some researchers once fastened a camera to the head of a sperm whale to find out what it is they DO down there at 2000 meters. At 1000 meters the camera imploded and the spermwhale kept going down  :icon_wink:

I placed my first dental implants yesterday!!!

WOW.. what a rush. ive restored many of these in the past by putting crowns on, but these were my first surgicalls. So that means i opened the gums, drilled the holes in the bone and then placed the titanium fixtures into the bone. Heady stuff!!

It went well.. but now i have to wait and see how the healing goes.. wish my patient luck!!

My PC works again - thanks to my girlfriend sending me her Windows CD (I love her!) all the way from Oklahoma, and me spending several hours online and calling Microsoft - it lives!

Oooh, Duluth is beautiful.  Its like a seaside town, as the great lakes really seem like an ocean.  Just a couple of hours drive from the cities!  good luck!
