I'll be in my bunk.

"So we see what we can find out here at the inn and then go looking for answers?"

Georgi's pauses a moment as his stomach rumbles - "Just as long as we get some grb 'n ale afore the questioning.."

Enterring the inn, the newcomers find it decidedly more full than the empty streets outside. Not so full as to have no space for them, however, and they easily find an abandoned table with enough seats for all of them. Not long after they're seated a rotund little halfing comes out of the kitchen, wiping his hands on his greasy apron.

"Oh, visitors! It's so very nice to have visitors. You'll be wanting dinner then, yes? 'course you will. Why else would you have bothered coming in here? So drinks then? No? Ah well, should've asked my wife Anja over at the bar there. Right so that's drinks, dinner, and a room? You'll be wanting a room won't you? Say no more, say no more." He grins knowingly. He waits a few moments to chat about food and manages a fairly good appraisal of what folk would like for dinner. After that he darts off back into the kitchen to make dwarven curry, Kislevite hot pot and a possitively sumptuous pie for Yon.

Once he has departed, and the group begin thinking about heading over to Anja at the bar for some drinks, they begin to take in the room. The inn's common room is well furnished with comfy padded seats and benches. There are wooden high-stools so unusualy small people may be seated comfortably together and even a few foostools, should they wish to clamber up onto a nrmal sized chair. The air is smokey and the ambient chatter of the crowd fills the room with a pleasant humm. A few individuals stand out from the crowd. There is a dwarf standing over by the bar dressed in acoat of bright mail. An unnatural bald spot on the side of his head (clearly the mark of an old head wound) catches the firelight as he turns his head to order another ale. Leaning up against the bar is also a rather extravagantly dressed gentleman, sporting the very best of Bretonnian fashion. The third fellow, a blacksmith by trade (if his apron is anything to go by) clearly hasn't bothered to take off his apron and don a decent shirt or wash the black smudges of the forge from his face and body before coming in to the pub. He remains standing and this is probably a wise choice on his part since smearing the seats wouldn't be approved of by the management. He's even got one or two of his hammers with him, tucked into his belt.

The rest of the crowd look like farmhands or idle labourers, casualy enjoying the evening before heading home for bed.

Georgi muses that if the grubs Ok & the ale good, then this might be just like home.......

Hargrin looks around the room "There are a few people who stand out in here, we might as well start with them."

'the halflings talkative enough for 2, twice his size, me thinks I'll start my questioning with him, when he has a moment.'
and when there is a lull, kilkirrie calls over the halfling for a bit of a word.
I'll be in my bunk.

Keeper

"A good idea, Kilkirrie.  But allow me - I might be able to get another Halfling to open up a little more to me that he would a Dwarf.  You know how some people can be about talking to their own kind, even when they're surrounded by all sorts of people."

"Why don't you strike up a conversation with the armoured fellow at the bar, whilst you get us all some ale?"
:hal:

PaulH

"Why don't we first just get some grub down us - don't want to pass up this opportunity just becasue of some silly bafrfight over a misunderstanding, do we"?

Hawkins

kilkirrie acknowlages the point ot Yon and eats first before getting up and abmling over to the Dwarf at the bar, *dwarvish* 'could i stand you a pint, and ask yea i few questions or am i intruding?'
I'll be in my bunk.

Hargrin eats his food and keeps an eye on things, he doesn't want to approach the dwarf and have it seem confrontational.

Keeper

Yon takes his time and enjoys his food, waiting and watching for the chef to bit a little less busy, at which point he'll go over, introduce himself properly, and ask if there is any extra pie.

Turning to Kilkirrie the dwarf grunts, "Grod's th' name," he says, "Grod Thunderfist. Now you look a sturdy young fellow. Not got enough years on you yet but we'll soon fix that. I see you brought another of our fine folk in with you. It's folk like thee I've been lookin' for. I am preparing to mount an expedition to rid Karak Varn of the greenskins that have infested it. The money's good but it's dangerous work. Eh, tha wouldn't happen ter have any kin descended from Karak Varn before it's fall would yer? Now'd be a right good chance ter head oop there and give them goblins a reet good bashing!

"Well lad, art tha oop for it?"

Custom_Hobby

Just about done with his food Hargrin gets up and walks over and extends his hand "Hargrin Morgrinson, whats this about bashing some greenskins?"
Mike

Georgi heads over whn he hears about "bashing greenskins".

"Names Georgi. Well met. You mentioned something abot dangerous work, but well paid"?

Georgi's his half empty flagon long forgotten as he waits for more information
