These are fantastic minis; thanks Gi6ers for recommending them!

A few questions --

what is their scale?  Do they fit in with GW/Heresy size, Rackham, Reaper, or HF size, or true 25mm, like Foundry?

What is their story?  Is it simply Bob Olley being self-indulgent and sculpting whatever the heck he feels like?  Not that there's anything wrong with that, I was just curious if there were some specific intent for them.

I'm getting ready to order a pack of them, can't decide which to get!  I'd get all 3, but my unpainted pile is enormous enough as it is, and besides, income taxes are due...  :(
Nevermind me, I have a cruddy banner, so please click HERE for Cheddarmongers!

I think they're on the larger side, perhaps more Rackham size than anything.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

gi6ers

They are great, the HF Barwench and Dwarf World barwench are exactly the same height.

I'd go for Village folk or Tavern folk, and don't forget to order some texans while you're there.

I'll get some sking cnut*ies finished soon..

The first 19 at the top of the picture are Bod Olley's Dwarfs and the rest are GW if that give's you an idea of scale.

Bodhi

I've compared them with Hasslefree and they are definitely on the larger side. GW - to my knowledge - have not yet done any dwarfs. I don't consider their bloated headed bellys with feet on dwarfs at all. At best they are something I could melt down and use for making weights for my SCUBA diving equipment.
Sorry I remembered they do the LOTR range to. Those dwarfs are just fine.
Olleys dwarfs are very nice though. Very much a kind of "Stedtl-jews" meet dwarfs and sweet music is the result   :icon_cool:

Regards scale, yes they are slightly larger. My intention with dwarf world was not necessarily to make cross over figures that would fit in with other companies ranges, it was done to create a completly new rustic world, where the only thing a Dwarf needs his axe for is to split the logs for his fire. Also don't think that Dwarf World has come to an end it is on temporary hold at the moment because of other commitments. The list of new subjects for Dwarf World is truely enormous, so keep a look out for interesting new additions which will appear sometime this year.

I'm more than willing to beg for a dwarf female warrior from you Bob!

cheddarmonger

I'll do far more than beg for a "Darrowdelf" as pictured here:

This is one of my wife's favorite books, and one of the main characters is a female dwarf-type critter, whispy beard, powerful arms, toting a battleaxe, chuffing a cigar...  I know your dwarf females are pretty and gentle, but does this strike your fancy?

Check out this book:

I'm going to revisit my earlier old world dwarves, so I shall have to take a note on this and include a few females in any new sculpts, are you a with or without beard man?

That's very re-assuring, lol. But I know there are two schools of thought on this issue, maybe I could provide optional stick on beards :)

As mentioned above, I shall be doing some more work with the first dwarves I made, probably sometime in Autumn this year, so it would be a good chance to include this cigar smoking bearded female dwarf, but just the one mind you, :)

There's actualy a third (small) subgroup that doesn't want dwarf women to have beard but does want them to have tufty fluffy sideburns. Personaly I like the WFRP explanation that the first dwarfs the humans ever met were wearing kilts leading to the human missconception that all dwarf women must have beard and be impossible to tell apart from the men (whereas actualy no women were present at that meeting).
