Slated!

Inspired as I have been by various recent versions of Valaska Syn which have appeared over on the Forum of Doom I've been experimenting with things from my bits box and basing bags to try to come up with a nice place to mount her when I'm done (steady on there...). I've figured something out and blu-tacked it together and it looks pretty good. But it involves a nice bit of slate for her to perch upon. So what I want to know is has anyone attached a mini to slate? What's the best way? I suspect pinning her is out and she has such tiny feet and therefore contact points with those boots that I'm not really sure about gluing. Does anyone have suggestions for things that have worked in the past for them?
With that in mind I'm also attaching the bottom of the slate to a wooden plinth. I suspect 2 part epoxy of some description is probably best for that but I'm open to persuasion. Hints and tips appreciated, I'm new to this whole "basing things up properly" malarky.

You can pin it depending on the wire/rod you use for the pin and the drill bits you use for the slate.
