I monitor this place weekly to see if anything I can use comes out but so far theres only a few I could convert and then not very easily.....Theres loads of stuff there for ideas though Mike  :icon_wink:

you know the one thing people miss alot on ships is weather the sails or tied down or unfurled. If your planning to have them tied, then make sure to have plenty of coiled rope around, maybe the cargohold open, you know, lazy in-port type. if its full sail, then id say it could use a list on the off wind side (nothing to major) and have a wake if its posible (not to sure if its just the ship you want suggestions for or if its on a diorama or some such....

any pics mike? i dont know if this helps but if its too wide or too long that also effects the scale for the minis. if its a small boat but wide or long and thin. just something to think about....

Okay, so what would I like to see on a pirate ship. well there's lots of different kinds of pirates so I'm assuming you mean "normal" piratey stuff.

One thing I'd like to see is a really fierce figurehead. That or a saucy one. So the fierce one would be a Posiedon type, heavily muscled with a wild beadr flowing down over his chest. He'd be wielding a spear or something and maybe even wearing a helmet or breastplate. The saucy one would be a tarty girl with a certain look in her eye, you know, winking a bit, flashing a bit, something like that.

Hey, has anyone else here read the Liveships trilogy where the ships are made out of magical wood (and the figureheads actualy have personalities and human consciousness). I love the part where the old warrior figurehead goes mad and attacks a foreign ship (made from normal wood) and practicaly demolishes it with his bare hands. I think he uses a broken beam like a spear in that scene.

I'd also like to see bundles of ropes, tools, winches for lifting stuff up out of the hold, mallets (those round sailor's mallets), wooden pegs, boathooks, a ship's boat and of course an apple barrel (for "Jim Lad" to hide in and hear the mutinous plotting).
