By the way where dd you find the pic?

It was a really obscure fantasy & sci fi artist's website where professional artist's showed off their work to each other. I don't think I saved a link to it but I'll have a quick look and see if I can find it again.

Well... I first ran across this picture in issue no 86 of Dungeon in the adventure "The Anvil of Time"; the artist is Jason A. Engle and it's actually meant to depcit Huma.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

Huma, the human knight of Solamnia with his spear. Well the website (which I can't find) was for professional artist's only and they each had their own sub galleries. When you clicked on a picture it came up as  apopup so you couldn't right click and save as. You had to press Print Screen (to capture about two thirds of the pic), copy it into MS Paint, and then copy in the remaining part of the picture and cunningly blend them together.

Well my thinking is that I don't really want to go changing portraits down the line so people get to start with idealised "high level" portraits now and work towards living up to the image they'd like to present :).

In that case, my first choice will work quite nicely, assuming Balgin approves.

Shen, Thorgrin & Hasta now have portraits (we're working on the others now).

I just found this one, it looks good to me. What do you think?

I thought you wanted the other one. Actualy I had the young ginger knight from the picture of Lord Soth being told lies by the dark elves before earning his curse. It's the december picture from the 1989 Dragonlance calendar so I know it's one of the fab four's work.

The Huma one? I don't know...I don't really like the mustache. But he has the spear & armor, which is a good point...
If you're talking about the first pictures I posted, I think the last one is Caramon too, so it's just the same...

Any picture? (Always was a Lord Sobert Soth fan...)

It's proving hard to track down so I'm going to have to go and pick up the calendar to see if the name's included (at least the artist's signiature will be).

Okay, I got the year wrong (1992) but here's a few badly scanned in images from the internet (I might have to scan my copy in and it won't fit on the scanner :p). Those book covers cut out about two third of the picture (it's a square painting) and it doesn't seem to be up on his website but I might be able to take a lucky photo otherwise it's negotiating scanner access for me.

That's the one, with the gender ambiguous ginger fellow in the right hand corner (although even that scan seems to be missing some of it like the horse's legs and the lower half of the painting). There's a quick sample portrait attached anyway.

Custom_Hobby

Yeah I know what you mean. I found it on google and figured it was good enough for the part you were going to take out of it.

The knight on the picture looks young enough to be Kharsis. If it's ok with you, let's go for this one!  :icon_thumleft:

That's cool, so now there's just Godric and Garrick to do and I might dig something out sometime today or tonight for them.
