Coat needs inspiration & motivation
« on: September 15, 2007, 06:39:58 PM »

This vagabond has been stuck for months. I need to decide what kind of colour to do his coat. The problem is that I had a rough colour in mind. It was experimental (I just thought "I'll mix those two or three colours together") and I tried it out on his shirt or trousers. Now it looks so good there I want a new colour for the coat. I was either going to do the coat a dark reddish brown (with the lapels & some details the same colour as the trousers) or a dark greyish green (with the detailed highlights the same colour as one of the mid tones on the shirt).

It's been so long that I really can't remember what colour I had in mind and it'd be nice to get this scallywag finished. I took this photo a few months ago (same time as some of the early RLS wip shots) but I haven't touched him with a brush since. I wish I could remember how I did that shirt as it's come out rather nice.

If anyone's got some suggestions or (much more importantly) motivational comments, that'd be great. I'm quite happy for him to remain stuck for a while longer while I paint other things.

I was thinking either Black or the same brown as his boots. He looks like he is standing in front of alarge poster. (I know it is the box from the dwarf bust)

I think the dark grey\green would look nice mate.  maybe even a dark grey with light grey highlights would look good.  something similar to the shirt but different enough to see it as another colour  :icon_w00t:

He's funky! Dark grey would be good.
The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?
