why I no longer like GW

I think they really wiped them out. That's really a shame. They could at least have made them part of the imperial forces, just like ratlings or ogryns. Squats were mutants just like them after all...

Maybe one day we'll also see exodites, there was not even minis made for those! I think GW was about to cast some for Space Marine Epic when they stopped it.

I thought they were part of the Imperium forces, just manufacturers and not warriors anymore.  How they can just delete a race amazes me....

Exodites?  never heard of them.  I would have thought GW would prefer even more races, variety being the spice of life.  GW seem to have given up the conquest of world domination for their products, I think the company could do with being bought by a fans consortium  :icon_wink:

Basically, the writers felt  the squat lore was too standard and silly and really didnt fit in with 40ks drift from "fantasy in space with dwarves" to "slightly less fantasy in space with no dwarves".  The story released was that the squat homeworlds near the core were scoured by Hive Fleet Kraken.

 Yes...all the squats were apparently wiped out.  All of them.  And it was all very amusing to the creator of the game.  You are supposed to play your army as "counts as" imperial guard or Orcs.
 However the Tau (bleh) are in contact with the Demiurg-a spacefaring group of dwarves who might signal a return for the squats.  Except this time they will be fighting for the Tau.

 As I said earlier...my problems with 40 k are with its story-  They came out with an incredibly amazing world..and have pushed to make it less and less so.  Every mention of the Imperium has it losing-every mention of the Tau/Necrons/Tyranids talk of temporary set backs(origonally it wasnt-it lost worlds but gained them as well)...and even at the loyalist heart of the Imperium we now find Ultramarins and Space Wolves working for Chaos(look at the Astral Claws).  It drives me nuts that they cannot simply leave it alone.  1000 Chapters and they need to screw over the founders of the Imperium(Ultramarines and the rest instrumental in keeping it together after the Heresy)?  A whole army removed on a whim in a game that sells because of its rich background material(and they kept in the Dark Eldar?  What..All 6 players witch*ed about it?)?  A doomsday scenario so over the top that our only hope is that various doomsday scenarios will cancel each other out and create a "no wipeout" nullzone?  An Imperium whose beurocracy has gone from rediculously slow and monumental in nature to COMPLETELY INCOMPETANT?

  Hell..the Warhammer "OMG THE END IS COMING DOOM OH NOES" problem even seems to have ruined the upcoming MMORPG.    


 The prices suck-but I would still pay for them.  I love the Space Marines (and their Sardukar/Spartan/Huscarl fathers), I love the Eldar and ive even come to love the "KrOrks".  I really wish their prices would drop but I dont find any other firms peices nearly as interesting and I dont see GW changing until someone does. Rackham is pricier and suffers from worse proportion problems, Privateer Press suffers from a lack of detail<for the most part> and the Reaper doesnt have anything to fill in for 40k-
 Um.  I of course mean in the same scale. Of course Pegaso and Andreas kicks ass :)


I understand that the imagery is either "like or dislike" which means the mini line is the same.  I know the heads are too big. I know the new Captain Sicarius model looks retarded but I honestly think GW is winning because it did the work. Their art is astounding, their background is cool and they managed to smash through any opposition they found.  I am not adverse to trying other companies-I blew quite a lot of cash on Rakham and a lot on Reaper as well...but I dont think any firm exists  right now that can take the crown from them  (although that new line with its own forum subject here on CH seems great).

Exodites are Eldars who prefered to (or had to...) settle on new worlds instead of living on craftworlds after the fall. They breed droves of dinosaurs-like beasties to sell their meat. They haven't kept as much technology as the Craftworld, but from what I remember they still have some...In term of troops it was supposed to give things like pteranodons riders with lascanons, etc...They used big armored walkers to keep their cattle. They called it "knights" and it was between the walker and the light titan. Exodites are also supposed to be organized as clans, and the highest rank you have, the most powerful knight you have...

Well, it's supposed to be something like "eldar cow-boys with dinosaurs"  :shrug:

Plans for them to return sounds good.  It makes sense for GW to produce them as they still charge the same prices as other figs but they're nearly half the size !!!  If they do come back I bet they'll all be plastic to annoy me....

Rackham prices arent that bad as long as you pick the right figures.  Some are so thin and wispy that you're afraid to touch them for fear of breaking them, these ones are well over priced.  The Tir-Na-Bor Dwarves are quite large and chunky and you get a decent amount of metal for your money, no plastic parts either which I like.

Yeah theres no company still that can rival GW, there'd have to be merging of companies to achieve that and that would probably be for the worse in the long run.

Not sure I like the sounds of futuristic warriors on dinosaurs.  If the dinosaurs had technological implants and metal plates etc it would work I think

I think they've made some stock and their minis will still be available, but soon or late they'll probably stop. But it seems to be ok right now...
