RPG - Play-by-Post - players needed

Heh, he sounds like fun! Never had a character like that before in a campaign. All the rogues I've seen played when I've DMed have either been slippery conmen or 'guy who's good at finding stuff and climbing'. Look forward to seeing him. How do you like the 3E rules so far?

So far they seem similar to the ones I've seen (I have no idea what edition they were) but it seems to have borrowed some parts from other systems - GURPs for instance, with the feats and stuff. It lacks the disadvantages that you can use in GURPs to get more skill points though. Still has characterclasses and levels which is a bit limiting in my view. In my roleplaying days I mostly played the Chaosium games which all shared the same gamemechanics as runequest I guess. Character development was freer in those ones. But D&D is OK apart from that detail.
Haven't checked combat rules and all that yet so can't tell about them.

Combat is an interesting beast. When 3e came out people marvelled at how quick and easy combat was, as did I in the few pen and paper sessions I played. But with min-maxers and strategists it can become a chore. I'll try to avoid that!  :icon_wink:

Why do i see myself as always healing his boils, or holding a hankercheif over my nose when i cast healing on him. ... i love it. Lots of character development.

Well, once everyone's emailed me their character and I've reviewed them and sent them back with any amendments. Then I might ask each of you to give a quick precis of character appearance and personality, as your characters already know one another. Then I'll set the first scene.  :icon_suspicious:

I'd rather just make a sketch. If anyone else wants me to try - feel free to send me a description and I'll do my best. Should it be a very prolonged session - who knows, we might even end up with minis?  :icon_whistling:
