I've been beavering away in the workshop again today and came up with this,

http://www.miniature-heroes.co.uk/browse/hobby/view/mhh4-artificial-horn-display-base.html

Just curious to know what the other members here think. Also made some from english walnut and utile hardwood.

Thanks.

Not really into display bases myself, as I paint miniatures to game with them, for the most part.  Looks like a nice enough, base, though.

I hope you find some more useful opinions from people who use them :)

Yup, quite nice mate. Good price too.  Plinths etc are tricky to get hold of so you might want to get a limited stock and see how you go.

Any more plans for more niche/smaller harder to get manufacturers?

For once stock isn't a problem, I make them. So as long as I have the timber and there isn't a power cut, no problem.

Always looking gi6ers and have a couple of things on the boil. Em4's range of stuff can now be got including their paints, and I should be able to offer a discount on it all too.

However if you have any ideas I'm always happy to listen to consider them?

Well they are certainly a consideration. The trouble is the amount of money that I would have to spend with them to get a good spread of their stock. And that importing goods is always more expensive. They may come in time but at the moment things in the Uk are most cost effective for me, followed by europe.

well your website is certainly growing, and always someting on it tempts me to place an order, (pliths included) but my bank account is empty. such is life.
I'll be in my bunk.
