Dunno if this is a review or not, but I was browsing the Forgeworld site, mostly in an attempt to avoid doing some work I don't really want to do, and I came across this:

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/KROOT.html

Reminded me of nothing less than a giant death chicken.  Hmmm...either I'm getting old or GW/Forgeworld are finally losing it :D

Am I just becoming a grumpy old man?

I quite like them...

What? Eating chicken? Or this model in particular? Or just Forgeworld? :D

I like the design, but as usual the FW prices are insane. I'd have to think twice at less than half the price they have those at.

Eating Chicken and these big Kroot beasties as well as the riding ones.

Must admit i didn't look at the price.

edit : Just have.... £40  :rimshot: who are they kidding

Mind you nice design..... I could just seem some Aliens/kroot beastie cross over creatures.... maybe Hounds of Tindalos.

Hawkins

never thought of them as chickens.... but now that its been said i dont think i'll ever look at the kroot as anything else.

I didn't used to either, until someone on a different board (I don't remember which) suggested they'd make great "Parrot Men From Venus" in a victorian sci-fi setting. Then it was chickens all the way :)

Imagine the size egg it'll produce! It'll be giving Bernard Matthews ideas.

GW won't let us independents have any forgeworld stuff otherwise I'd fry the price for you. Fry gettit?  :tip-hat:

no worries, forgeworld wont be around very much longer the way GW keeps putting out the plastic kits on tanks and titans.

I always wished they would let retailers carry the FW stuff. At least that way you would find more of it on Ebay for cheaper. Yes I know thats part of why they don't do it.

To be honest, GW are difficult to try and deal with. I think forgeworld suffer for their rights to produce the pieces that they do tied to the warhammer universe. Does it really cost that much to cast their pieces, personally I doubt it. GW could swallow them at anytime which they are doubtless aware of. In making sure their pieces are highly priced it makes the GW range look good in comparasion. And the mark up on GW stuff is bad enough. Forgeworld have to tow the GW line to have the benefits of a large manufacturer.
