For me it's a tie between these two, mainly for the fact that I hardly felt like I'd painted them, they almost painted themselves, I enjoyed them that much.

Oh but there's so much to chose from. I'm not sure I have a favourite. Ben Brownlie thinks my Eiryss is the best paintjob he's ever seen from me whereas I know it's an awful paintjob (botched and fixed) and it's not one of my favourites at all. I know there's sculpts I like and paintjobs I like but I'm really not sure which achievement fills me with pride (although I could name a fair few that don't - like everything I painted in the early 90's when it just all came out really pale and watery with the undercoat showing through practicaly all over).

I am quite proud of her eyes 'though (which are really nothing more than skull white, purple ink and my thumbs being carefuly applied as it dried). Here's a (dark and blury) face shot for you folks. They really should've made her like the original concept art, she'd have been such a better miniature (or at least have had a brilliant pose instead of some wanky impossible posture where her mid section blatantly ignores the fact that her hips and shoulders are twisting in opposite directions).

Ohh what a difficult question to answer...
I'd have to go with my Meg because it was painted for my mum and is supposed to represent me being a brat. I wrote the words, "No love me, no like me, no hug me!" on the base... something I used to say to her when I was having a tanty.

Bruenor and Zordana, I think your works are superb.  They are so clean and full of life.  How long does it take you both roughly to do a decent figure?  Do you specify your colours b4hand or decide as u go along?  I think your painting skills are brilliant but the colour choices really do it for me in those pics

I never plan schemes, I find they always go wrong for me, I sit down and look at the minis and see what colours spring to mind, at that moment, in an hours time I may have changed my mind, I'm that fickle.

The White Dwarf took just 3 hours one afternoon, it just came off the brush like that, the Scrunts took about a week, and I got the slight wild west comes futuristic gangers look that I imagined.

I find that what I call back shading helps me loads, I basecoat, Shade and highlight as normal, but then go back with thinned inks, around where shadows should be, which gives them more depth, and helps the highlights stand out a bit more, plus I glaze alot too.

Zordana those two are simply fantastic!!!!!

Base is a green stuff custom job.  I am slowly working on a dwarven army with simular colors and bases.

That music to my ears, I read on the CoolMiniorNot site that in order t get a super paintjob you should work out what colours are to be used b4hand.  I just cant do it though and am like you where I chop and change as I go along.  Glad you have proved them wrong !!!!

3 hours?  Thats not bad at all.  I spend about 1 to 1.5 hours per mini but they arent anywhere near your level.  As I have so many to paint I think I will get them all to a respectable level and then go back later to do the "back shading" and gloss as finishing touches.  By that time my skills should have improved a lot so will do a better job.......

I spent 6-7 hour's yesterday doing the Alien's staff, eye's, chest gem, metal container, goggles, toe nails, wrist bracelet, rope for loincloth and base, the base only needed painted.

Have to admit that I'm quite chuffed with him.  :icon_razz:

I think i took something like 10 hour's to paint him in total.  :icon_eek:

I agree Wristy, I'm working on a Warrior Priest/Cleric now and I must have put in 14 hours already and he's still not done.
Starting to experiment with freehand decorations on my minis now, but it takes bloody ages!!!!!!!
