This is one i did a while ago, it's a converson using Hasslefree's "Axenarf" body and Heresy's "Skullmasher" head and hand's.

I used him as a test for the camera i got, i'm still getting to grips with it a bit.

Picture i took when i finished him with my old camera and old lighting.

Bigger picture's of both.

Rays Bat

I do recall this being awesomeness.

Whatever happened to those bases you were planning on selling?

Custom_Hobby

Yeah do you have the right stuff to make more large bases like this?

@Ray
More moulds being made and I'm going to make more stands (square one's 20 and 25mm) and do mould's of them too.
Have to let each layer of latex dry before doing another so can take a while if it's a bit thicker layer than normal.
One mould done of two different stands, roughness round the side's of one but the "Herculite Stone Casting Plaster" is nice and strong when set, no crumbling at all and the bottom is flat.
Did a few drop tests on a wooden surface from 2 inch's high and it was ok.

I tyred speeding up the drying process by heating it but i think that caused the roughness round the side's, will know more when the next mould is ready.
I have six more stands getting the latex treatment right now.

Now what do you think of the new pictures compaired to the old.
@CH
Got another six of the coasters and lots of other bit's to use on them, so i can make six more of them, might not be the same as this but near enough.
I can also make more bit's like tree trunks and pillar's (pillar's will need practice) with procreate and cast them separately, for use on the stands.

I would say that the pix with the new camera appear to have more natural colours but lack the required intensity of light to pick out the details clearly.

The old pix had unnatural light but clearer quality.

The main problem is that the pix are too small to make a real comparison as it is difficult to see the details.  You would probably be better taking various pix of a single miniature on a standard base to get good comparisons of detail that would fit comfortably on a PC screen.

Bigger pix of your minotaur would also be cool to see  :icon_cool:.

The new picture has better sharpness and color, but the old picture has better light, and it is easier to see the model.  What happened to your photo setup?  You were doing great with that light box.

I'm at the "getting the setting sorted out" stage.

Using the best highest setting i get 9 pictures on a 128mb card.  :icon_w00t:

128mb?  They still make those?   :icon_eek:

What kind of media does it take?  CF, Smart Card, or a little bird with a tablet and chisel?

Excellent mate, the backgound isn't helping though, get yourself some card in a mid grey.

Dr.Evil

The camera still needs a bit of adjustment yet and i need practice with the manual focusing as the auto focus is crud*.

This camera has good point's and bad, the bad is it show's the crud*pyness of my painting more and the good is much better picture's.
Orded two spare battery's (£9 including P&P for both) as the one with it last less than an hour.

one of my criteria for camera selection is an AC adaptor.

I just picked up an AC power supply for my old Nikon at adorama.com

One came with it but i haven't tyred it when photo taking, it's for charging the battery while the battery is in the camera.

Had a look at the pics you sent me, I think you need to play with your AF settings, your first test pics aren't probably the easiest things to photograph as they have a deep field of view and the minotaur is off center. Colours seem ok but again the background isn't helping.

I think you can get a deeper field by messing with aperture priority but I'm not sure as I'm just learning this stuff...I think a higher f-number will give a greater feild of view.
