Rod the Worm

Hasta takes a while longer downstairs, ordering some soup herself if Garrick's looks good, then retires to the rooms to scribe a scroll of Colour Spray.

It doesn't but she's hungry. Is anyone else going to eat or are you all just starving?

Woojitsu

I assumed we ate aboard ship.  If not, Shen will order food before going upstairs.

Thorgrin pulls up a chair and orders some food. He calls out to Amras "Hey Tasartir get something to eat. You can study with a full belly." The dwarf also orders drinks for everyone and waits for his food

The dwarf is right. I can study in the morning. "Thank you Sir Thorgrin, I should get a bite to eat before my studies." He takes a drink and sits down with the group (those who are there). While he is waiting he makes an offer to compare spell books with his fellow mages. "We might as well pool resources where we can."

Okay MIke, will they be ordering the soup (contents unspecified) or the mutton pies?

OOC: Does it really matter that much Balgin? I guess soup for the elf and both for the dwarf

After eating and drinking everyone retreats to their two rooms for the night. The bedding's a bit itchy and it's clearly not a very high end establishment but it'll do. In the morning spellcasters prepare their spells and everyone heads down for breakfast (or eats trail mix in their rooms). Once everyone's up and ready to head out it's probably time to make a trip to see Squire Marlen for the promised pay.

Fortitude save 21, Sir Thorgrin has survived an encounter with gone off meat and barely even noticed :p.

I'll sort out money & small change later.

Oh yeah, I gave Kharsis a hp back for resting too :).

OK - Garrick will wait for the party in the morning, then go to the squire's.

Balgin Stondraeg

Eventualy everyone heads downstairs and is ready to leave. One of the barmaids (tired and bored, with her makeup smudged) lounges behind the bar in case anyone wants to order breakfast (last night's left overs heated up a bit into a kind of slop with maybe a bit of bread to dunk in it). Once everyone's ready to leave the group departs. Arriving at the squire's house they knock on the door and wait for a bit.

After a short while the door is opened by an armed guard, wearing a uniform over his mail. He bulntly asks "what do you want?"

PaulH

"We've come to see the squire - Squire Marlen. We've got some paperwork from the local Wizard"

Garrick waits exectantly to be let inside. If/when he is, he'll slyly cast a professional eye over the security & any valuables on display.

Woojitsu

Shen is more concerned with keeping his breakfast down than he is with the guard in front of him.  Something in that mess did not agree with him.

Rod the Worm

Hasta waits quietly, letting Garrick deal with the guard.  In these times, being short and female isn't the greatest way to be taken as seriously as another.

Balgin Stondraeg

The guard ushers everyone in to a small waiting room where three other uniformed guards lounge about, leaning on their halberds. Kharsis and Godric are fairly certain that the heraldic emblems on the uniforms must mean something and they doubt the local squire's got his own coat of arms if this small house is where he makes his abode.

After a few minutes one of the guards returns (having been sent off by the doorman) with Squire Marlen. The squire is an old rake of a man, all skin and bone, with a real beak of a nose and beady little eyes. When he speaks his high voice cuts through the silence like the creak of a rusty gate hinge.

"Well now," he says, "whom do I have the honour of addressing? Surely you must have very important business tobring it to me of all people," he tries not to wring his hands too much with glee but just looks as if he's nervously trying to clasp his hands together but is afraid of letting them touch and they just seem to pat each other ineffectualy.

PaulH

Garrick stands & looks around the others, silently awaiting their consent before answering.

"Good Sir, my name is Garrick, and the Wizard Theothrastus has given us this Credit Note for some work we did for him. He did say to come and see you......".

Garrick then hands the note to the Squire (Or his servant to hand to the Squire).

Garrick will await a reply before continuing. After all  - a Wizard said to come here for payment, and it's a well known fact you daren't disobey Wizards. (Unless you're a more powerful caster yourself, of course.....). :icon_twisted:

Amras looks around the room

Thorgrin keeps a tight grip on his axe but leans casually against the wall
