As of today, we are halfway to our goal of 5,000 USD for Alexander's hearing aids.  I wish to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped us get to this point.  Raising 5,000.00 USD on 2-3 dollar average miniatures is a mammoth undertaking with ebay and paypal fees.  We have received six cash donations and seven donations from companies and individuals.   Both of us are very grateful for these donations and the rest of these will be auctioned off as soon as the auctions are ready. 

As of today, Ann and I have decided that we will not be accepting any more donations, either in cash or of miniatures from individuals or  manufacturers. The remainder of the amount Alex needs will come from the sales of our items off of ebay only.  For those who have donated cash or miniatures, feel free to pm either of us privately if you wish your donation returned.  We will be glad to comply. This applies as well to those in progress.

The reason for our doing this is simple.  Apparently we've upset several people greatly because we have not managed to raise 5,000.00 USD in the month we have been auctioning items and questioning our motives for auctioning items.  I'm not referring to folks asking in kindness how close we are, if we are there yet or for a general update.  Friendly inquiries are always welcome!!  It's the nasty, spiteful jabs that are not welcome.  While I understand and lament the fact that such people exist everywhere, even in such an extremely nice community as gamers and miniatures lovers, between Alexander's need to hear, my fathers second heart surgery yesterday and my own health, spiteful, nasty people are something I do not need to deal with. The toll emotionally is not needed or appreciated.  And no, I'm not going to name and shame because I won't dignify these people's actions with the attention that they are obviously so desperately craving and unable to get in their lives otherwise.  Our own auctions will continue because Alex needs his hearing aids.  Feel free to bid if there is something you like.

As I said before it is a true shame that people are that sad and open to frivolous displays such as those. Some people are just ignorant and continue to spread their misery.

Normally I just ignore people like that, but there can come a breaking point in dealing with such crud* and I pretty much reached it yesterday.     

I have no problem with waiting until you are done shopping at all.

My son, Alexander, was finally diagnosed with hearing loss and the digital hearing aids he requires are beyond our present finances.   To offset this amount as much as possible we have been cleaning out our families miniature collections. We have been fortunate that members of the gaming and miniature communities have offered their help through either donations of  cash or items to sell, or by buying eBay auction or store items.

To help defray these considerable cost of the hearing aids, cfwheeler58 of CMoN has very graciously donated  an out of production limited edition, still blister sealed, of Ashan'Tyr from the Wolfen faction in Rackham's Confrontation game.

Impact! Miniatures Benefit Auction

Tom Anders, the president of Impact! Miniatures, has very graciously donated a rare complete Limited Edition Blood Bowl Chaos All-Stars team out of his private collection to be auctioned to help with the cost of  Alex's  hearing aids.

The Chaos All-Stars team was made famous in 2nd edition Blood Bowl when it was published as part of the Star Players book ( http://www.blood-bowl.net/ChaosAllStars/CAS_2nd.jpg ).  In White Dwarf #114, Phil Lewis immortalized the team by representing the 13 members of the team in painted version he made using stock 2nd edition figures and custom made pieces ( http://www.blood-bowl.net/ChaosAllStars/ChaosAllStars_WD114.html ).

As part of the official GW Chaos Cup tournament ( http://www.thechaoscup.com), official GW tournament figures have been produced for this event for the 7 custom pieces in Phil Lewis's original team.  Each one of the 7 Chaos Cup pieces are limited edition castings of 200 specifically made as annual give-aways for the Chaos Cup tournament.

This auction not only includes the unpainted 7 limited edition Chaos Cup figures and the 6 extra 2nd edition pieces for the team, but it also includes an red Impact! Miniatures carrying case with metal plate for the miniatures, a polarized spiked football and 13 holed base weights and base magnets from their store.  This will mean you are insured to have a great rare team along with all the accessories you need to protect and transport it properly.

Through a generous donation we have a new miniature that will be included with the auction.  This miniature is of a fantasy fantasy football evil elf thrower that can also represent Rex Farsight, who was also part of the Chaos All Stars at some point.
