Warpwolves... xtreme conversion

One of my friends went to Gen Con and ninja-shopped for me the Xtreme Warpwolf... after dry-assembling I decided that I didn't liked the legs (again... same story than regular warpwolf) so I started a conversion...

I'm missing the "skin" to soften up a little the leg muscles, hairy bits, details on one of the leg plates and both feet plates...

I added photos of my regular Warpwolf too, that also has it's fair share of greenstuff and a family shot to see how huge the Xtreme has gone...

That miniature is beautiful from the feet down. The rest of it's barely worth touching 'though.

Great work steeldragon.  You've made them look marvelous :)

I don't think I'll invest in these chaps, though, if they need this much work to look good!  Top marks to you, though!   :icon_thumright:

thanks for the comments... the problem is that now I have some extra warpwolf legs that keep lying there waiting to be used... and a fourth Warpwolf it's a little too much, specially when you are missing troops... or maybe not...

Yep, whilst it's a crud* sculpt you've at least made it semi okay (anyone who's seen the original will know exactly what I mean about it being absolutely lovely from the soles of the feet down, the Gorax is no longer the ugliest thing they've sculpted).

You still kept the crud*py wasp waist that makes the upper section look rubbish* 'though :(. And you lost the lovely base too :(.

I'll take the extreme base (with it's lovely tree/standing stone/whatever it is) if you don't want it.

Can some post a link to where these are from please?

The original warpwolf extreme:

I believe I want to use the lower part of the Warpwolf to build a fourth one... but on a regular scale rather than the oversized original one...

Thanks for the pic. Yours is way better than the first.

I think this wood look a lot better if it had a female Wolf head on it Rather than that huge head its got but then your going to have to change the upper chest and arms if you put a female Wolf head on it and that is going to be a lot of work.

The other thing you can try if you don't mind me saying is that you could bring the left and right arms down , out and forward some so there about the same hight as his lower Jaw and have them reaching in the same way as the face is looking ( so it looks like its jumping out on some one to be strangling them to death if you get me ) then I'd   bulk out his middle a touch more.
I am not just a dog I am a Doberman.

I do like the arms... it's a matter of vision... I imagine him with his claws covered in blood and guts, 'cause he just frenzied and is reducing to pulp something that he is smashing in the ground... repeatedly...

Someone fields Gorax's a lot (or doesn't field Kaya :p). Circle beast frenzy? Never (or at least not with my dice, kind of handy really as I get better control that way :p).

steeldragon

It was just a mental image (it has never happened to me until now) and I just bought a Gorax to see if I can put some putty on him (and probably resculpt the face).

I ussually play with Kaya or Kromac...

I like what you have going with all of them so far. Have you started painting?

Bad thing is that I only have enough time to sit and sculpt on weekends... so probably next sunday I will finish what is left... that if no Infinity models get on the way...
