I think it's fairly obvious.....and to be honest I don't mind losing to that standard of painting.

Perv

It was a lot closer than it looks.  I thought both were painted as well as each other but Medveds looked more evil and fitting.

so Matt how did you paint yours?

i worked from a white undercoat and painted the little blighter gory red (vallejo game colour) and then added a little black ( to get a brown shade)  to do some shading , basically painting around the bottom of muscles and under the chin, cheeks, eye sockets.

i then added a little more black and did the areas in most shade.

then came the highlighting which was gory red + white to make a pinky colour (think squid pink or tit pink in GW)  this was watered down and feathered onto areas that needed highlights. (all the areas that would be hit from light from above)

the mini looked quite odd at this stage.  i then did the black bits which were the highlighted with 50:50 black and sombre grey (shadow grey in GW)  then add a bit of wolf grey (VGC) for the next hightlight feathered on.

then the mini got a red ink glaze (GW)  where the highlighting was too stark i used a heavier (more opaque) ink glaze.

then the eyes were painted black and then whites inside the black bit. a yellow circle was painted with a bit of red mixed in. to make the iris.  then a black pupil was added.

the pentacle was painted in white and touched up with black around it, i then glazed it with red ink to give the glow effect (getting a bit on the black)

then the whole thing was dullcoated which brought it all together.

Yeah number 2 for me as well...............it's the eyes that clinch it for me. :clap2:

I went from a white undercoat to GW foundation red up through red gore to blood red with blazing orange added for the highlights. Did a light wash of scorched brown between 2 or 3 of the layers.

The questions we should be asking are these:
Does it have dungeons?
Does it have dragons?
Does it have transients who kill things for money?  Do you roll a d20?

I don't. I really like Frothers. It's a great place and I enjoy the bantering  :) So I go to "messages since last visit" every time.
