So who plays RPG's....?

At school we played Cyberpunk, Basic D&D then 2E D&D... hmm there were others oh yes Tales from the Floating Vagabond, WEG Star Wars, Fighting Fantasy Dungeoneer (?), Paranoia.

I have played 3E only a small amount ironically.. so playing online suits me as it gives me more time to look stuff up!  :icon_ermm:

Let's write someting here...Ok, so I began with The Call of Cthulhu in 94', and played only this until I went to the university. There I played a lot of things, including Vampire, Mage (I guess it was White Wolf golden age...), and some more obscure things. A little bit tired of Cthulhu, I wanted to DM something more med-fan around 97', and I bought almost all the Earthdawn books. We had a very nice campaign. Later in 2000, our group decided to get involved in D&D with the new edition. We almost played only this, but more rarely because life makes us more and more busy. We had different kinds of games using D&D, and I even tried to run something in the Ravenloft, before turning it into the Oblivion's Blood campaign. Ravenloft is really something difficult to deal with for a DM, although it's definitively my favorite setting. Now I haven't been playing for one year and a half (curiously, it's my daughter's age...), and the last campaign we began was Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. I have a level 8 fighter/ranger of Red Knight (The biggest character I've ever achieved I think...) who is also an officer of the army of Cormyr. And guess what? Our DM called me yesterday to tell me we would have a game on October the 13th!  :dragon:

I've been reading the threads about it. It sounds interesting although it's no usual way of gaming!

There is plenty of room for adventureing in between domain turns. People think you only act as the country but there is regular adventuring in there as well. It really is the best of both.

My problem is i would love to play it! lol I'd love to try my hand at either a wily merchant prince or a mysterious elf lord or lady a la Moorcock.

I am definitely interested in DMing but would have to read up a lot on how to integrate the domain turns with regular adventures... Perhaps something similar to the Pendragon RPG in which PCs have 1 adventure a year. Hmm... yes...  :icon_suspicious:

There are prewritten adventures that could help with figuring that part out. I am also trying to get a DM to run the game on the forum.

Do any of you actually post on gaming forums. If you do please post a DM wanted thread for the game here. I did that on a few sites and hope we can get one.

Thanks Fabian, yes please put one on ENworld. i just joined the Birthright one and emailed the admin to ask if it was ok. I didn't want to step on anyone toes so I am waiting on his reply.

I might be interested in DMing a game like this, having scanned through the D20 Core Rules from the birthright site, but I'd need to finish my Diorama of Doom first, and have a proper read through the rules.

I think I can see how you could integrate adventures and domain actions rounds, or even war moves, though.  But I'd be happy to be a player in such a game, too, I think :)

Rather fortunate up here in Gloucester - we have a regular RPG group that meets on Thurs. Got enough players for about two games each week.  Used to play lot more when Balgin used to live here, but now limited to just the one group.

As a player currently playing in two campaigns World Largest Dungeon & Age of Worms, alternating each month. That's in addition to PC games & Balgin's Night Below campaign.

Birthright campaigns are a lot of fun - especially like the strategic element.

Oh blimey, we used to play five, six or even sometimes seven nights a week with old Sharky and Two by Four :).

I've played loads of things in my time but most recently I've been playing d20 Star Wars and D&D 3.5 in the Eberron setting. I'm currently working myself up to run a campaign in Green Ronin's Black Company d20 setting, based on the books by Glen Cook.

if i listed everything i have or would play, then the server would breakdown and we dont want that. :icon_wink:

right now however, im playing blood Bowl, Mordheim, Battle Tech, mechwarrior, Basic D&D, Warhammer, 40K, The black eye, and finally confrontation 3rd edition. no not at the same time, but thats what ive played sinse the end of january :icon_cool:

However as mentioned before, id love to play with you lot here as well.
