Has anyone seen any of these in the flesh?

Are they really painted like the ads?

Perv

are these the new prepainted plastics?  not very imaginitive on the paintjobs and cant say i like the figs much either  :icon_scratch:  Not seen in flesh or at all b4 but going on the photos I hope I never do !!

Bungle

Yep pre painted plastics....

new releases for November... it was the worn look on the paint jobs that attracted me, and I wondered if the real thing had that quality of paintjobs

Perv

certain parts of the figs are good but overall I expected more from them.  Compare them to the paintjobs on their site of the metal figs and there is no comparison.  I know u cant expect them to sell as good as that for low prices but they should be better I think

I got a look at AT43 minis at my local shop earlier this week. The paintjob is better than most begining players could achieve, so it could probably look attractive to newcomers. However, hobbyists or long time painters (like most of us), would probably feel frustrated by those.

And by the way, there is no AT43 minis I like, aliens, monkeys or humans...I don't know if it's something about casting them more easily or simply the style (or lack of style), but there is something missing in those minis.

those are minis touched up by the studio painters  or done as a guide for the painters in whatever cheap labour company they come from  :icon_ermm:

Bungle

Ah.. so the real thing is not as good.

I thought it might explain why they were selling well, it is a lot better than the "showcase quality" from painting firms

Yes, they are studio jobs, the real ones for th punters arn't half as good.

Apparently they are done by machine in an assemble line fashion with sprays and stencils. Alot of people were asking about the whole cheap labour thing and they released documentation saying they were doing it the machine way. Then Reaper said they were doing it the same way aswell. (Or Reaper gave documentation and Rackham followed with a comment I can't remember the exact details.)
