Paint crumbles on latex stuff and they look terrible if rolled or bent.

their recommendation of thin stains is good... so would a non setting paint like oils if it didn't react with latex.

Shipping is a killer though.... I could do with 2 or three 4 by 4 ones too

Wargaming:   20mm, 25mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 40mm, 54mm, 80mm, 90mm, 120mm

Who the hell plays 120mm wargames?! I thought 40mm was pushing it (what with the italian companies just starting to make one or two 40mm games due to blatant scale creep and their taste for impossible to assemble miniatures) but 120mm? That's just being silly.

I think they are just trying to point out the versatility.

No good for 15's though :icon_scratch:

How big would those tree trunk sections be then? You know, the things that'd be branches on larger scales.

Custom_Hobby

I was thinking about those at one point. Aren't there a ton of companies that make then though?

It would look like tunguska.....

Probably work ok .... just don't know until it is seen in the flesh

http://terrainmat.com/HowToUse.html  I have seen in the flesh.. they are custom made in colour /style for what you want on a cloth backing

I have some rubber latexy cobblestone floor sections and they work really well.  Mine are coloured already, dont think its paint though.  They're very durable but my only issue is joining sections together is a bit hard as the cobblestones dont line up with each other when 2 mats placed together.  With this 8' by 4' that wouldnt be an issue though but maybe they should be colouring them during the making process rather than asking us to paint.  I cant see thin layers of paint not cracking when its rolled up and stored away.....

I thought that, but then I thought you might want to use it for basing material for a 120mm diorama, which is a popular scale for military scale modellers.

That's definately going to depend on the paints you use - even allowing that they suggest thin washes to build up colour. The only colours guaranteed to stick to latex would be the stuff used on foam latex SFX appliances and the like, though having said that I think most modern "acrylics" are built around a latex base. I could be wrong, I'll do some reading  :icon_wink:

What about the rubber paints you get for covering metals and stuff, flexable and woun't crack.
Can you mix pigments or inks to them to change there colour.  :icon_scratch:

What? I thought tunguska was a Star Wars name for something. It's really a real thing? What is it then?

It's the place in Siberia that was ground zero for a really big meteor strike in the early part of the 20th century. Iconic photographs of blast-flattened trees and dust clouds.

X Files referenced it,iirc.

Damn beat  me too it.

The interesting thing is the tress all pointed inwards, so it was an implosion rather than explosion.
