Surprise round:
Everyone exept the skeleton is surprised and it uses it's single action to stand up (from it's sitting position).
Round 1 and here's the initiative count:
Skeleton 18
Ellion 17
Rhana 16
Sarian 13
Dekion 12
The skeleton decides to attack the bloke wot tried to pinch it's sword. The attack roll is a mighty 16 which hurts (since he's currently flat footed). Because he has Uncanny Dodge he retains his dex bonus to ac whilst flat footed so the attack misses, a good thing because it was going to cause 11 points of hurt in fact (yes, this is a semi tough old skeleton).
Next up is Ellion & Rhana.
Ellion pulls out her holy symbol of Sindla and shouts in a clear steady voice
"BEGONE FOUL CREATURE!!"
(I was starting to wonder when she'd be getting any use for her turn undead abilities...)
"Sarian get back" Dekion rushes in and unleashes a full attack on the Skeleton (2 points)
OOC: Balgin did you remember to factor in the new Dex bonus he has from the ring, because his intiative bonus went up as a reslt. I updated everything on my character thread.

You're right it should be two higher. I'll fix that in the next update (right after I've rolled Ellion's turning attempt :)).
So does that mean I go after Ellion? If so who knows maybe the others might not be needed.
After Rhana but before Sarian (who rolled something like a 5 for initiative :().
Given her low charisma I'm going to (make) Ellion use luck on this attempt:
Her luck roll is 16 (granting a +4 bonus to the turning roll). Her final turning roll is a 12. The creature will attempt to keep away from her but it won't leave the room. It retreats towards the stairs down. Sarian does not get a free strike (because he's still flat footed).
Rhana's next (but the increased distance now means Dekion won't get both atatcks 'cause it's more than 1 square away :().
I'll scamper back out of the door, covering my head as I go.
Does Rhana have LOS to the skeleton? If she does, she'll cast Melf's Acid Arrow. If not, she'll use the wand - all three bolts at the skeleton (obviously!)
Dekion advances on the skeleton and attacks it (2 points)

She has line of sight but there's two people in the way. She could easily move and then cast at it or she could use the wand (remember that you can move and cast in the same round).
Just take whichever will do the most damage and assume she does that (I think it is a safe assumption)
In that case, she'll move and cast Melf's Acid Arrow :)
Rhana's ranged touch attack is a 14. The acid arrow causes 5 damage and has 2 rounds remaining.
Dekion moves & attacks (with a 2 point power attack): Attack 19, damage 10 (skellies have damage reduction/blunt, remember? :))
It has now taken 15 damage and it's Sarian's turn.
Balgin did you factor in the critical hit for Dekion? He gets it from 18-20
It is probably 19 once you've added modifiers
I take out my dagger and move into the choridore, wanting no part of the skeleton
Is choridore Italian for corridor? ;) :icon_twisted:

8+11 = 19 No critical threat (plus all undead are immune to criticals anyway).
choridore is dyslexic for corridor
Okay, it'll take an attack of opportunity as he leaves (attack: 7) and then make a regular attack on Dekion (attack roll: 14 just ain't enough).
That officialy puts us on round 2 folks (acid damage pending on Rhana's initiative).
Dekion goes for a full attack again (2 points)
It has gotten 3 attacks at me in one round, what a jip! At least I'm safe now
Balgin, doesn't his sword crumble?

Sorry mate but it ain't that rusty.
I'll plonk you down outside the door on the next map update (coming soon).
Before attacking Dekion the skeleton will move one square to place him between it and Ellion (since it's trying to get away from her).
Do I get a AOO when it moves?

Nope, single square shuffle doesn't provoke aoopps, it's if you intend to keep moving after that that it happens.
Refered to in the PHB as a 5 foot step

Yeah but that's two steps really 'cause both feet move.
Ya, being able to step five foot is prety absurd, it just signifies moving slow enough to keap both eyes on the opponents and be weary enough to avoid oncoming attacks
Ok so what is the correct initiative order? And whos turn is it?
Skeleton 18
Ellion 17
Rhana 16
Dekion 14
Sarian 13
Ellion's
(modified)
He got mine wrong with that so I want to know what the correct order is. He didn't take into account the Ring of Dex +4 that I got for solving the riddle.

Yes I did. If you check the first map Dekion's initiative is listed as 12 there (so I added in the extra 2 for his magic ring which put him up on 14).
Ok so the skeleton took a swipe at Sarian, and moved between me and Ellion to get away from her.

So by that it was in a square I threatened (I just attacked it there), and it is moving to another one I threaten (to get away from Ellion). So you said I still dont get the AOO?

Same link, same quote:
QuoteMoving
Moving out of a threatened square usually provokes an attack of opportunity from the threatening opponent. There are two common methods of avoiding such an attack—the 5-foot step and the withdraw action.
Also
QuoteTaking this 5-foot step never provokes an attack of opportunity. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#take5FootStep)
If it had moved more than one square you would have certainly got one.
I accidentaly edited your post instead of quoting it. I put it back how it was and moved my post here.QuoteYeah, being able to step five foot is prety absurd, it just signifies moving slow enough to keap both eyes on the opponents and be weary enough to avoid oncoming attacks.
It's not so much moving slowly as it is moving a very short distance (circling your foe wearily).
Anyway, the skeleton's made it's attack so now it's Ellion's turn (but basicaly now you all get to rip into it and susprisingly it hasn't even lost half it's hit points yet - this skeleton warrior is hard).
Ok that works.
Damnit, I could've sworn I attached the beginning of round 2 map there. Here it is then.
PK. Ellion just goes in for an allout bash with her mace. As much power as possible (charge if at all possible)
Rhana will do nothing this round except to move back 5' to the door frame and keep her wand in hand.
Standard stuff from Dekion: full attack (2 points)
Okay, so Ellion closes in and attacks. Attack roll 21, 11 damage.
Then Dekion attacks, first attack 29 (30 confirms the crit but undead are immune to criticals :(), 6 damage. His second attack roll is a 17 that causes 11 damage.
The skeleton also takes 5 acid damage on Rhana's turn.
So it has now taken 43 damage and crumples in aheap.
Rhana and Sarain are both by the doorway and it seems just Ellion and Dekion are in there for the fight.
Balgin you wrote this in the gaming thread:

Round 2
Raising it's rusty old sword from the floor with a loud scrud*ing sound, the skeleton hews ineffectualy at Dekion's shield. As Rhana backs towards the door, wand at the read, Ellion advances and smashes the thing in the face with her mace. As it's head reels Dekion slashes it's legs from under it and then severs it's spine at the waist. The creature moves no more and the scroll remains losely gripped in it's left hand.
So is it dead? (again lol)
Or on zero or less hit points! Can undead do that? I suggest a coup-de-gras immediately, just in case - followed the the soup-de-jour and then a moulin rouge.
Hmmm ... just re-read that, and I think I need coffee, I'll leave it for your entertainment though ... AFK.
that did make me laugh Dave.

43/40 damage. Yeah I'd say it's dead (since undead don't go into the minus's but simply drop at 0).
Ok so time to lock this one
