Just an experiment in quick sculpting. Took three hours. I thought I'd do something small in order to make it in time (17 mm to top of head) and I thought I'd do something a bit more in a comicbook style. So from that it was only natural that the subject would be a bowling orangutang Nah. I found a picture in a paper my daughter gets so the idea is by illustrator Stina Lövkvist from the paper "Kamratposten" a Swedish paper for children. So it was an excercise in working from a conceptsketch in a style totally different from my own as well. In order to get it smooth and clean I'd probably have to spend at least a couple of hours more on it but the experiment was to see what I could achieve in a short time. So now I'll just mail the illustrator and ask her if she wants it. Well it might serve as orangutang inspiration Oh and an elf with ONE halffinished bowarm: And WIP of a mayan warrior charging (The loincloth is to long but it's necessary support since otherwise the figure would just rest on the heel of ONE foot and that would make it very breakable):

I hope the artist likes the sculpt. Nice work for a quick one and of a different style. I love the elf.

She's mainly a "furry" artist. Cute little antropomorphic animals. Not something I've been into all that much. But I liked the idea of a bowling orangutang. We have fantasy football. Fantasy bowling the next big game You could have rules for... rolling the ball and.... well... rolling the ball... well ... ... ... I'll get my coat.

The questions we should be asking are these: Does it have dungeons? Does it have dragons? Does it have transients who kill things for money? Do you roll a d20?

Liking the elf, Alf (what an appropriate name!) Yeah well Alf - or Alfar in icelandic - is the original form of the word in Scandinavia. I kind of like my name Glad you all like that elf. I'll keep them up then.

Bodhi, with the second elf, is he just having a sword? with a few minor arm position adjustments he could have a double handed sword, or the front arm could be put a bit more horisontal from his perspective and be carrying a shield, OR the front arm could be raised a bit (and bent a bit more at the elbow) to be pointing a spear foreward. my with the loin cloth situation, you could put a bit of wire from his back foot to the ground to stabalise it whilst you make it that the person who buys it can just clip and shave off (because it will be stable once metal). Another Both looking really good so far, keep it up! (I just lost 4p, dang)

A base body (three different poses) 2. A left arm holding a shield, a left arm holding a bow and a left arm casting a spell (Arms holding bows will have a fur "shoulderguard" while arms holding a shield will have a hardened leather shoulderguard as such a shoulderguard would impede an archer but not necessarily a swordman using a shield and swordsmen should be slightly better armoured) 3. A right arm holding a sword, a right arm loosing an arrow (or picking one from a quiver - vaguely the same handposition can be used for both) 4. A double set of arms with a spear (held twohanded) 5. A scabbard and a quiver to be added on the belt/straps Twohanded swords I feel are not in character for wild tribal elves. It's light armor light weaponry here. PERHAPS a hero type figure could have one... Since the arms are attached to a shallow hole the exact positioning of the arms will be up to the one assembling it. This bow could both fire almost straight into the sky (though you'd have to bend and cut a bit at the neck to reposition the head upwards but that's a simple conversion work) and be held down holding fire and it would look OK either way (and all transitional states as well)

we were discussing hit points over at Delarns and it was mentioned that a 1 hp system would be boring, so i said this... both Necromunda and Mordheim get on fine with a 1 wound system, let's be honest in the real world it's 1 shot that kills you i propose a system that makes it damned hard to hit your opponent but everytime you score close you force them to move, this would allow you to fight them into a corner (reducing their defence) or over a ledge or something of that order, combat would then move all over the table like it does in reality and in movies until the final blow is struck, also enough that could take more than 1 hit would be a true power house of a monster poicture it you've fought long and hard and forced the behemoth off the tower to a plunging death below only to watch it get back to it's feet
just my ideas but hundreds of systems have hit points, very few have dynamic, moving combats

I think that is a very solid idea. Maybe we can brainstorm and come up with a game here on the forum (in a private area of course).
