OMFG that is awesome!!! How much is it?

Price TBC. I'm still juggling costs and deciding whether to push the LE factor and follow up with a (probably more expensive) white metal version or whether to stick with resin and just have a slower turnaround. It's fairly aggressive on the moulds but not exorbitantly so.

About the same resin by volume as Hasslefree's Libby on Tiger - which they priced at £25. It won't be that expensive. By comparison, just got Masq-minis' swordmaiden which is a lovely casting & sculpt - but way overpriced at 12 euros. At a ballpark guess I'd say somewhere between those two extremes.

Oh, and while Snuurg's done a fab job on the mini, I feel duty bound to point out that I sculpted the base. Including celtic knotwork on the ruined stonework.  :icon_redface:

Ever since Vermis posted his Ceros idea over on the FoD I've had a terrible urge to sculpt a rhinoman of some description. I've even tried to sketch a rough outline of what I want to do. This is tempting me more. I love it but it's not quite what's in my head and that germ of an idea is nagging at my creative urges like nobody's business.  I mustn't give in tho'... I have enuff bits and pieces to finish sculpting and stuff to paint and a whole darn DoD to construct.

Hehehe cheers Matt  :icon_wink:

and @ Caerban - yeah, I've been biting my tongue over the comments/designs  on FOD. This mini of ours was originally designed around 90/91 and is at least the 3rd version AFAIK that we've attempted (found the original version in one of my workchest drawers the other day  :icon_eek:). He's the first mini we've tried casting in resin - we did a small range of half a dozen white metal minis in the early 90s - and originates in our old PBM game Wyrdworld.

Of which, much more later.....

Missed this yesterday.  He is a most fabulous looking beast :D

Something about his stance is asking for a light-sabre conversion, though! ;)

...y'know, I've just been digging through my old crud*ola, and have come up wishing they gave prizes for procrastination; this is the first sketch I did of this rhinokeybloke - check the date on the damn thing:

- seventeen ruddy years ago. crud*, I'm old.
I did have a go at sculpting him before, too - though perhaps a bit out of scale for 28mm, being some 14 inches tall or so - think this old lump is languishing somewhere in me cellar with a few other unfinished symphonies... and even this must be ten years old or more:

...so finally, after all that - and after another year and a bit of getting the hang of this greenstuff stuff, and of doing things small - the rhino-warrior makes a full-figured appearance. Shame I didn't think of doing miniatures a decade ago, I might've been a lot better by now, and doing it for a living instead of as a bit on the side (erm, so to speak) - eh well, I'll just have to stretch meself out to 100 years old or so to get the most out of it :)

 - hopefully the next batch of sculpts won't take anything like as long to come to fruition!

Amen to that :icon_wink:

You should finish the large scale sculpt. It looks good and make a nice kit.

Not sure it's my best paintjob as I'm a bit rusty.....anyway:

OK, short review:

Resin was very easy to work with, fantastic fit on all of the pieces, I used some GS on the wrist but that's it.  Very little flash and the little that remained was easily removed.  Very few mould lines and no detail was lost.

The mini also came in a funky little box that I think was a nice touch!  9/10 for the sculpt for me as I'm not completely sold on the weapon TBH.

Wicked, nice work Matt. Glad to see one of these painted after staring at rows of plain white resin ones the past few weeks  :icon_eek:

@ Keeper - should have these on sale next week. Been too busy casting for Hasslefree to get anything else done this week!

@ Medved - your "surprise package" will be hopefully going into rubber this weekend, so I might be able to get you something to paint by this time next week, fingers crossed....
