Heres a set of Chinese knives, these are the only ones I can find but I have single big butchery type knives too but they must be at my old house, will be a couple of weeks b4 I can grab them

As a side question do you carry any sharpened items?

unfortunately not.  Where I used to sell over boot sales and markets, you needed anything sharp to be locked away in glass cabinets so I opted to sell anything that wasnt sharp.  I couldnt be arsed with keep having to get stuff out for people and then theres the extra insurance required in case someone gets hurt....

I say to people if they want them sharpened then take them to your local butcher and give him a tenner, they'll come back like razors  :icon_w00t:  All swords and knives, except those Chinese ones I just pictured, have temper lines on the blades for sharpening

Been meaning to ask you - since we have a resident swordexpert about - is the relative length about right on this one for a Katana?

Looks more like a Wakizashi to me mate, Katana would be about 1/3 more than what you have.  Not seen any 2 handed Wakizashis around so rather than say its one of those, you'd be better off lengthening it to Katana size  :icon_wink:

Strictly speaking, a ninja wouldn't be armed with a katana in any case - they were the preserve of the samurai.

If he did use a sword at all, it'd be a ninja-to, a smaller (24" ish) straighter blade of considerably lower quality. What you've got on your green there is pretty much spot on, I'd say.

Strictly speaking before Hideyashu (I think...? I allways get the "three strong men" mixed up) initiated his "sword hunt" any old farmer could own a katakana nicked from the battlefield and not until after the battle of Sekigahara did samuraj weapons cease to exist among the peasantry, ninjas, priests and other lowlife. But after Sekigahara japan entered a long booring period of peace under the Tokugawa bakufu so it's not the best period for wargaming purposes. It was then that the very strict rules concerning "noble" and "peasant" weapons was truly enforced.
The ninja-to is by some considered a mere myth. Extremely little correct historical information concerning ninjas exists so most historians tend to avoid mentioning them all together as it's all so mixed up with fairytales that mentioning ninjas would almost be similar to mentioning Tengu or similar fairytale beings. They're somewhat of an embarassment really...

Then again Matsumi sensei and his modern Ninja (Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu I believe is the correct term these days..?) sure exist and THEY claim to hold loads of historical information but that's unfortunately none more reliable than the claims of any sect or special interest organisation claiming to have "correct" knowledge for the professional historian. That aside I have practiced with a Ninja-to during my days of Ninjutsu (as it was then still called) training but that really isn't proof that it has been in historical existance  ;)

I imported a load of Ninja swords a few years back but all sold out.  I have one in my room though  :icon_razz:

Theres 2 small throwing knives that come out the side by the hilt and the end has a metal blade you attach to it which turns it into a spear.  The blade is as you say straight but its 30 inches to the hilt and 39" for the whole sword.  No idea what type or style its called though  :icon_scratch:

I have a nice set of swords sitting in the living room. They gop nicely with the two axes, egyptian sword, 2 bayonets
(the middle wakiwotsit one is the same length as my WW1 bayonets BTW) and hand crossbow pistol.

I'm getting ready for the zombie uprising.. the chainsaw in the garage has a full tank just incase.

Sales not going too badly, seems to have quietened down a bit over last week but it goes in fits and starts.  Bit like me....

No chance of parting with that Ninja Sword sorry mate.  Last one I have.  I left a couple with a mate but am sure hes flogged them by now, will check and give u a shout if he has one left  :icon_wink:

I have to sell most of my weapons, all the guns are going and obviously the swords.  I will keep my knives though as cant part with my foot long flick knife.  Lets hope the St Lucian officials dont spot my weapons, seeds and massive porn collection.....
