Nice Axe Wristy! Any suggestions for what sort of Axe she should have Balgin?

See my axe photo's but with a straight handle. There'd also be a little point above the one at the bottom of the head, sort of strengthens the grip on the shaft.

Similar to the danish axe




but more like the danish handaxe.



Or maybe even that russian kind of axe/polearm thing (often the bottom end of the blade is joined to the handle) but I always think they look a bit crud*.



Dunno what this is (bet there wasn't a historical prototype) but it looks like some serious damage'd result from getting hit with one:



Not sure I like the two raised rings at the base of the haft 'though. Throw in a second backspike (about two thirds of the length of the top one and just below it, not coming off from where the lower end of the blade joins the haft), fix the butt end and I'd say you're looking at a seriously decent battleaxe there my friend :).

I like the fact that the axe is crude and wooden-handled, but the head could be simpler, the handle could be tapered and/or have grip wrapping, making it a single blade instead of a double blade might resolve the angle issue, too.
