Thor (1 of 2)

This was a commission job. I have 2 of the same to do. Client wants a good Thor and Evil Thor. I am not quite sure what that means but client was happy to say this was the Evil Thor.

Thoughts?

Try the good Thor having warmer colors and the bad Thor having cooler colors to make him look more dark and sinister. That would be the only thing I could suggest from something that vague. Nice work on the freehand.

Only to echo what Custom_Hobby and bruenor have already said.

Perhaps the pelts could be white fur, with a light cloak and clothing.  Blond hair and perhaps a paler complexion to match.  Not sure how you could change the metal parts - add a bit of colour maybe to make it appear irridecent, although that would be hard work, I think.  Possibly make the metal darker to offset the lighter skin and hair, if you go with that.

Or you could sculpt him a halo :D

Nope, Thor is ginger (red haired) unless you believe crud*py Marvel comic books :p. I painted two of these up a few years ago, one for myself and the other in a very similar colour scheme but converted to wield a halberd instead.

Well since most things about the sculpture aint very much like a proper Thor it would be a minor problem to have the wrong haircolour...
excellent paintjob, OK photography(I'm sure it could do the figure even more justice) decent sculpture (if a bit stiff), not Thor though in my eyes :icon_wink:
Thor aint no noble in fancy armour. He's the ideal picture of the independent farmer that could fight as well as he could tend his farm. Those people where the core of viking society and Thor is that ideal driven to its peak. A common man and a carrier of common man ideals. Odin has many more traits aplicable to nobility. Even though in his aspect of grimnir (the masked one) he is a figure more reminiscent of Gandalf or some such in his aspect as leader and king of the gods he resembles the classic noble more than does Thor.
Some researchers have suspected that this is due to different types of organisation of society in different parts of Scandinavia. The clansociety of independent farmers holding Thor in higher esteem and the society of the growing cities and raising social stratification with an imerging nobility holding Odin in higher esteeem.
Theories abound though, and with the meagre material we have very little can be certain on the belief of the vikings (all documents we have are also written after the entry of christian influence)
This sculpture looks far to much like a noble warrior for it to be Thor in my eyes.

Nope, not going on any actual, factual details here, just my personal preference.
Dark haired 'evil' Thor, light haired 'good' Thor.
